Things I Wish I knew before starting University

Are you wondering how different university is going to be to home life and if there’s anything you should know before you go out in the wide world and be independent, you’ve come to the right place, in today’s post I am going to be telling you the things I wish I knew before starting university, trust me, their are a lot. I’ve now got a year of experience of university under my belt so I’ve learnt quite a lot I didn’t know about university before starting. This is also the last instalment to my mini series based on university so if you’d like to check those out first then head to the university sector of my blog for more. If you enjoy, give this a like and if you have any questions, leave a comment also if you want to see more from me, follow my blog.

Your student Loan money is not free money so use it wisely, university doesn’t come cheap

Your student loan isn’t given to you for free to splurge on all the things you’ve never been able to afford, spending in university can be quite tight so it is always important to budget your money from the start, also remember when university ends, all this money needs to be paid back.

Your first year counts

Your first year of university is a massive roller coaster and it doesn’t come easy, they may say that year 2 and 3 are the most important because both these years contribute to your overall grade but use first year to learn about the system and how to write assignments and exams so don’t just miss some lectures in the thought of the year not counting.

Look after yourself both mentally and physically

It can be easy to forget about yourself mentally and physically because I know you can not go in the shower because you don’t have your parents telling you what to do so it is important to keep clean also when it come’s to food, feed yourself the same kind of food you would eat at home, learn new recipes and experiment with food because I know it can be easy to just order Domino’s every day.

Don’t leave referencing in your assignments till last

I’ve learnt this the hard way but leaving your referencing to last minute can a really bad idea because you may forget where you got the reference from the very beginning of your assignment so you should add your references as you go so you aren’t spending hours searching for the references of each quote.

The Student’s Flu is not a myth

Before starting university I remember hearing about the students Flu and I didn’t believe it to be true but I can tell you it is, I spent a week without speaking because I lost my voice so always come prepared, bring paracetamol and cold flu tablets, they will come in handy, trust me.

Enjoy every moment of university

I’ve learnt from my first year of university that university tends to fly by so enjoy every single moment, a great tip is to get everything done as soon as possible so you can go and have fun, university is one big roller coaster full of new opportunities, people and new experiences so go out and enjoy all of them. That’s the end of all the things I wish I knew before starting university and I really hope you enjoyed this series on blog, I’ve really hope you’ve enjoyed reading them just as much as I’ve loved writing them.

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) What to pack for University, the ultimate guide

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog or welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to be telling you the ultimate guide of what to pack for university because I’m guilty of packing way too much last year, I already have 2 blog posts up from this week based off university also so if you’d like to check them out first that would be amazing. I really hope this helps and you enjoy, if you do, make sure to give this a like and also a comment if you have any questions. If you’d like to see more from me, give my blog a follow for more.

I remember this time last year I was frantically looking for lists of things I definitely needed for university and I was eager to find some blog posts that answered all these questions for me which is why I started this series in the first place. As I luckily had an en-suite room which I loved, I had so many places to think about so today, I am going to put together a list of things you’re going to need for each part of your room and kitchen whether you have en-suite or not.

The bed area-

Duvet & Pillows and duvet cover

You have to remember that your room isn’t going to be massive and your bed is going to be the biggest sight for attention in the whole room so you should make it nice as possible and as cosy as possible because you are going to spend a lot of time in this room. Buy a thick duvet cover and most university dorms you will only need to buy a single duvet but if your lucky enough to have a bigger bed, that’s perfect, just check with the university before, also get a cute duvet cover that will go with the interior of your room, I picked white because it was simple but it really helped to brighten up my room and make it look cosy.

A throw and cushions

There’s nothing that makes a bed comfier than some throws and cushions, I’m not going to lie but I went a bit overboard when it came to purchasing throws and cushions because I ended up having 3 throws and 4 cushions haha but their a really good item for when it starts to get colder because your rooms aren’t going to keep all the cold out and if like me, the heater didn’t work for half the year so these throws came in very handy.

Mattress Protector

The reality of a university dorm room is that people have stayed in your accommodation before you so they have also slept in the same bed as you for the past year so I would definitely recommend purchasing a mattress protector, it will make it more hyginic and it will save the stress of someone else’s germs being on your bed because you never know what they’ve done in that bed.

Under-bed storage boxes

These can be really useful for people who have brought far too much clothes to university and want to store their winter or summer clothes in because they won’t need to be in the wardrobe. These are really good for things you have no where to put them because then they won’t be all over the place which is really good in a small room.

Desk and Wardrobe area-

Desk organisers

There’s nothing better than dividing up all your work so it is all organised.

Desk Lamp

If your accommodation is going to be anything like mine, there wasn’t much lighting in the room and when it went dark, I wouldn’t be able to see much so it is a good idea to get a desk lamp for them nights your staying up late trying to get your assignments done for the next day which I wouldn’t recommend.

Clothes hangers

These are really good for keeping your clothes from being creased and it is also a really good way of organising your clothing.

Bathroom-

Laundry basket

I would recommend getting a laundry basket because there’s nothing worse than having all your washing all over the place and it makes it so much easier to carry your laundry down to the washing places or if your going to be anything like me, waiting till you go home and getting your family to do it for you because it’s rather expensive.

Basket

This makes it so much easier to organise all your shampoo’s and conditioners and all your washing stuff and it being organised because there’s nothing worse than it being all over the bathroom.

Multiple Towels

This one may sound obvious but I can remember the amount of people who forgot towels. I would recommend getting multiple sizes of towels because they will always come in handy. Also I would recommend purchasing two big towels for when you’ve used your towel a couple of times and it saves you from washing your towels repeatedly.

Toothbrush and Tooth paste holder

These are really helpful for stopping your toothbrush from becoming contaminated and disgusting.

Bath mat

This stops the floor from getting soaked when you’ve just got out the shower, I remember when I first arrived at university and this guy forgot to use the shower curtain I don’t know why and then all the water soaked through to the downstairs flat.

Shower curtain

The one thing I needed to change immediately was the shower curtain, it was so plain and it just made my bathroom look dull so I changed it up straight away and it made it look so much better.

Kitchen-

Cutlery set inc plates and bowls and cups

This may seem dumb to put on the list but it’s a must, another good tip is to get some that are different colours because you may have to put your cutlery with other peoples so having them distinctive makes it so much easier.

Smoothie Maker

This is something that may not apply to everyone but if your really interested in keeping up your health and your guilty of leaving your fruit and veg before they go out of date, making a smootie is the perfect way of not wasting your money and getting all the nutrients you would get from the fruit and veg.

Trays, saucepan and frying pan

Having a few of each is perfect if your like me and you leave washing up till last minute so you have some spare for whenever else your going to cook.

Scissors and sharp knifes

Washing up stuff

Stationery

2 notebooks, 1 with divider’s

Having 2 notebooks can be really helpful for dividing your lecture notes and making a hard copy of the notes because I can bet your lecture notes are going to be so messy you won’t be able to read them in a few months so its a good idea to make a hard neat copy making it easier to revise.

A set of pens

This is pretty straight forward, you need something to write with.

Highlighters

Only some people like to highlight their work but it makes it really helpful at revising and highlighting the most important thing.

Diary/Plannner

Planning is a really good way of managing time and remembering everything you need to do because trust me, you do so much more at university than you may think.

Laptop and maybe a printer

A laptop is a really important thing that you will definitely need for university because you have to write all your assignments online and you can also type up your notes making it quick and easier to revise.

Important Documents (id recommend putting all these into a folder)-

Passport/ Drivers Licence, form of ID

Medical documents- eye test, doctors

National Insurance Number

NCS card for all those discounts

Bank account details

CV

Discount travel card- rail card with Santander and coach with Natwest

These are all the things you will need to take to university, it may seem like a lot but trust me when its all in the rooms, it will look like nothing. If you have anything else to add, let me know in the comments also if you have any questions, also let me know in the comments. I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) The DO’S and DON’TS Of Being A Fresher and starting university

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog or welcome back to my blog. Today is the second instalment of my week of university posts, If you haven’t already read yesterdays blog post, I would recommend reading that first, it includes my advice on starting and preparing for university. In today’s post I’m going to be telling you the do’s and dont’s of being a fresher and starting university, because there’s a lot. I really hope this post helps. If you like this post, make sure to give this a like and also leave a comment with any questions you may have because I love communicating with you, also if your interested in seeing the rest of the blog posts throughout the week or simply want to read more from me, give me blog a follow.

The DO’s

Pack and unpack everything as soon as possible, there’s no point starting this too late because you will soon realise that it will take a long time to pack everything, much longer than you’d initially think. You should also unpack everything as soon as you arrive at university, this is because the kitchen can become very cramped the first day you move in so unpacking all your kitchen things as soon as possible helps stop the mad rush into the kitchen and it becoming cramped. This also helps to make yourself feel at home and being in a clear space can make you feel so much calmer because starting university can be very stressful so getting everything done as soon as possible can be good. I would also recommend leaving your door open while you unpack because it can make your flat mates feel more welcomed to talk to you and it can make it easier to spark a conversation because there’s nothing worse in not knowing what to say to someone.

Go to as many social events as possible, this is really important for making friends and having a social life which is really important at university because you’ve moved out and you need friends around you. Remember, everyone is in the same boat as you and is waiting for someone to reach out to them and talk to them so always spark a conversation with someone because you never know, they may become your best friend at university.

Find the time to explore the area of your university especially the grounds of the university. There is a lot to explore when you get to university, its a great opportunity really so take it as it comes, it can also feel quite overwhelming so always do it with a friend because that can build a friendship. It is also a good idea to find out where your first lecture will be based because there’s nothing worse than turning up to your first lecture late and this will stop the anxiety from being all over the place on the morning of not knowing where your lecture is.

Learn to cook a few meals before going to university because in the first month, I was guilty of only purchasing Domino’s and takeaways because I had no idea what to cook, cooking is really fun when your cooking something new. Obviously have the occasional takeaway but don’t rely on these as your meals and using it as an excuse not to go into the kitchen and cooking yourself a meal, also don’t just live off pasta because that is something else I’m guilty off.

The DON’Ts

Don’t drink or binge drink if you don’t want to, I’ve seen so many people at my university who will drink just to fit in with others and you shouldn’t do it to please people, no matter how many friends you wish to have. Also, control how much you drink because there’s nothing worse than embarrassing yourself in front of people you’ve only just met because trust me, they will use it against you for a long time. Also, don’t act like someone your not because people will like you for the way you are and the real friends will 9 out of 10 chances, love you for who you are.

Don’t get into a habit of going home every time you are feeling homesick, this can make it so much worse, the best thing to do is to leave it another week so you are able to adjust into your new living environment and it will soon fade, yes I still miss living at home whenever I’m at university and I’m loving the time I’m having at home over the summer but when I first started university, I would go home every weekend because a lot happened the first couple weeks of university and I felt really anxious so going home was the only thing that helped but in the long run, it didn’t help at all because I was becoming reliant on it but it felt so much better being able to be at university and becoming way more independent.

Don’t splash all your student loan at once, I know it can be exciting to have all this money you got for free but remember you have to pay it back in the future and learning from experience, the money can go fast and there’s nothing worse than being knee deep in overdraft and struggling to pay for food. On the other hand, don’t not spend because then you won’t have fun so my advice is to make a money plan and plan out how much your going to spend on food and the essentials each week and pay your rent as soon as you get your student loan so you know exactly how much money your going to have. These are all the do’s and don’ts to freshers and starting university, I really hope this helps, thank you so much for reading and my next blog post will be up tomorrow x

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) Ultimate Freshers Guide to starting and preparing yourself for University

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. So this week I am going to be uploading a weeks worth of blog posts so from Monday to Friday at 9AM all about going to university and my tips on university. To start the week off I am going to be telling you numerous tips to starting and preparing yourself for starting university. I have just finished my first year of university and I’m going to be going in to year 2 which I’m very excited about. I am going to give you tips on a range of things ranging from the university course to making friends to living in dorms, I really hope you enjoy this week and find it helpful because I wish I had read some blog posts before going to university so I knew what to expect. If you like this post, make sure to give this a like also leave a comment because I’d love to hear feedback and I love talking to you, also, if you have any questions related to university, let me know in the comments because I’m going do a Q&A later on in the week. If your interested in seeing more blog posts from me and want to see the rest of the blog posts throughout the week, give my blog a follow.

Join the university Facebook group and find people in the same accommodation as you and same course

The thing that helped me the most about going to university was joining the university Facebook group and trying to find people who were in the same accommodation as me and on the same course. I found this really helpful because I managed to find 2 out of the 5 people who were going to live in my accommodation and I was able to message then and get to know them a bit more which was amazing because it made me feel more confident and comfortable with moving to university because you have to live with these people for a year so it’s good to get to know the people you are living with. I also managed to find enough people who were doing the same course as me so I started up a group where we could all talk and get to know one another and this is where I got to know two of my best friends.

Read Lists on what you need to bring to university and only buy what you need

I am guilty of buying way more things than I actually needed when I first moved into university and I don’t think I used them once when I arrived at university now this year I’m not even going to purchase anything till I’ve moved into my accommodation to save some money and to only buy the things I need. The one thing I would recommend is reading more blog posts on what people would recommend taking to university which I will be writing a blog post about later on in the week so keep an eye out for that. This can be really helpful if you have no idea what you will actually need for university. Another thing I would recommend is DON’T GO OVERBOARD WITH STATIONARY, I am guilty of going all out with stationary and buying all these folders when the only thing I ended up using was 2 notebooks throughout the year, a pen and some highlighter’s which is definitely all you need at university, trust me.

Buy a Freshers wristband

Going to all the freshers event when you actually move to university is a very good way of meeting new people and getting to know what university is like and the opportunities available to you. If you like clubbing, I would really recommend buying the university Freshers wristband because this will save you so much money with entry to the clubs and I really wish I’d done this so I’m going to relive my freshers week this year which I’m so excited for. Also, don’t feel pressured to drink, there are so many people at university who feel pressurised to drink because everyone is doing it but you definitely shouldn’t, you can also have fun without being drunk. I would also recommend going to places you’ve been asked to go to, if someone has asked you whether you want to go to a flat party, definitely go because flat parties are soooo good for meeting new people and I have made so many friends from going to flat parties so definitely go.

Print EVERYTHING out, I mean everything

Something that really helped throughout the year of university was having everything printed out, such as, student finance details, university details, student bank account details, these are all things that are really important and you might need them multiple times throughout the year. I would recommend placing all of these documents into a folder which you can easily store and keep everything safe. Throughout the year I’ve needed multiple documents for enrolling onto university and signing for my year 2 house, these are all important things that you should prepare for in advance. Its also good to know how much money your going to receive from student finance because then you can make a money plan which helps to save money when you start university, I’m guilty of blowing all my money the first term of university, its part of the experience but its not nice ahaha. Also, sign up for your local universities doctors, this is really important because you never know when your going to fall ill at university and you don’t want to go to an emergency doctors.

Your going to be offered free things, TAKE THEM

Within freshers week, you are going to be offered loads of things for free and I would 100% recommend taking them, there will also be a freshers fair where you can ask any questions you may have and they will offer you free things and you should take them. You never know when that pen/keyring/notebook may come in handy. You should also take the free food they give you because you will be so thankful when your running out of student loan and you need some food. I would also recommend signing up for multiple clubs, I can’t say I did but I do regret not doing it because this is also a great way of meeting new people who are interested in the same things as you. I was also able to go to the gym for free for a year which was amazing but I did neglect this opportunity up until Christmas but I was really thankful for it after Christmas when I wanted to lose weight and I’m definitely going to pay to go back to the gym when I go back to university. These are only the small amount of tips I have for preparing for university, if your going to university in September, you really shouldn’t feel nervous, its the best experience ever and you will learn so much about yourself, thank you so much for reading and I really hope this helps, if you have any further questions, feel free to leave any questions in the comments and I will be back tomorrow for another post about university, until tomorrow x

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) Please comment any blog posts you would be interested in seeing and I will make sure to post them (I would really appropriate your feedback) If you have any questions or suggestions or would simply like to get in touch, my email is chlolauren21@icloud.com and I aim to email back within 24 hours!! Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Friday mid day for another post…

Ways to Save up money for Travelling

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog or welcome back to my blog. I’ve been thinking recently of what I want to achieve with my blog and what I want to write more about and that’s travelling. Travelling is one of my favourite things to do and one of my favourite blog posts to read so I’ve decided to incorporate travel into my blog more and I really hope you enjoy them. I really hope you enjoy this blog post, if you do, make sure to give it a like and a comment because I love hearing feedback and communicating with you, also if you’d like to read more from me, make sure to give my blog a follow.

So saving money, it’s such a tricky thing especially when your saving up for something you need a lot of money for, travelling can be quite expensive so finding the money to go can be quite difficult but if you save, that can make it so much easier. I’ve been saving up in multiple ways over the past year to save up for going somewhere and fortunately, I’ve been able to afford to go to Rome for a couple of days which I’m looking forward too. In today’s post, I am going to be telling you some ways you can save money for travelling no matter how old you are.

Get a part time job

The most simplest way to go about saving money is having a job because having an income can be important and if you keep a bit aside each month, the amount will soon build up and you will have enough money to go travelling in a couple of months. If your a teenager and you go to school, I would recommend getting a weekend job because a few hours a week can really add up. If your a bit older and have money responsibilities, I would recommend also keeping a bit of money aside each month because it will soon add up, maybe save spending more money on shopping etc.

Sell some unwanted things

If you have any unwanted clothes or items you could try selling them on Depop or eBay which are really good selling platforms. I’ve saved up quite a bit of money over the past couple months just from selling a couple clothes and things I don’t need so I would really recommend this. You can also take your unwanted clothes and convert them into cash which is a really good idea.

Save up a money jar

Each week at university I would have a jar that I would use to put any left over change that I had. I would also have a budget on my weekly shopping of £20 and any of that I didn’t spend I will put that into the jar as well. When it is full, I will then go and convert it into notes or put it into my bank and that’s something a little extra to the travel fund. Another idea is to have a pot that you put £1 in each day and the jar should be one that you can’t get into and you will save up money faster than you think because that’s £365 a year.

Create a saving’s plan with your bank

Having a savings account with your bank can be really ideal with saving up for anything. I have set up a section with my bank where I can put money into a plan purely for travelling and this adds a little extra to my travel fund. Next year I’m planning on going backpacking around Europe and having a savings plan can really help to save more money without having the temptation to spend it.

Have a spending plan and become financially responsible

Becoming responsible with money can be really hard but when you do, its the best thing you can ever do. The thing I use to become financially responsible is to have a spending journal, this has really helped to keep track of my spending and what exactly I’m spending money on. Also, at university, I have put together a spending plan and designated money to different things for example I’ve put aside £20 a week for food and £50 a month for different things. These are all my saving tips, I really hope this helps and I hope you enjoy the start of my travel posts. Thank you so much for reading, until next time which will be Monday when I start my university blog posts.

Updated Evening Summer Skincare Routine

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am going to update you on my evening summer skincare routine which has changed over the past few weeks. I’ve received PR packages and brought some new skincare so I have changed it up once again quite a bit. My skincare blog posts seem to do pretty well so I hope this goes down the same. I hope you enjoy this blog post and if you do make sure to give this a like and a comment because I love receiving feedback and talking to you guys. Also if you’d like to see more from me, give my blog a follow, I’m trying to get to 200 followers.

I am going to be showing you my evening skincare routine when my face needs some well needed TLC and I’ve had a long day. I am also going to be giving a review of the Primark face brush within this post also so if your interested, keep on reading. So firstly, I will go in and use my Simple face wipes to take off the majority of my makeup off before putting on a face mask. These face wipes work really well and are perfect for my sensitive skin because it doesn’t cause any irritation. Now onto my favourite part, I probably use face masks way more than I should but I am obsessed and I love the sense of becoming relaxed when using one. The one I’ve been using recently is the Mask of Magnaminty which is also self preserving which is amazing. I’ve never tried a face mask from Lush before but I decided to purchase this one for my birthday because I was interested to test it out. What I love about Lush is that all their products are Vegan. I thought because how much product you get in a tub you wouldn’t get much uses but I’ve used it 3 times so far and there isn’t a dent in sight. So I applied this all over my face evenly focusing on the places I have the most spots. I will leave this on for around half an hour so it gives the most help to my skin. I will then wipe this off using cold water and use a hand towel to wipe it off.

Next I will go in and use my Primark Face brush which was £15 which I feel is so reasonably priced for what it is. It is powered by batteries so there is no electronics involved making it way safer and it also has 2 settings, light or an even deeper cleanse. In Primark you can also buy alternative heads to replace each other because obviously the brushes are going to get dirty so they need to be replaced, the replacements are only £3.50 which I think is so reasonably prised. I’ve seen a massive improvement on my skin since using this, it makes it feel cleaner and helps to sooth of the skin. What I will do is wet my face using cold water and apply a face wash that I’ve been using which is the Simple Face wash and apply that to my face and rub it in a little, I will add the tiniest amount of the face wash to the brush also. I will use the brush around my face on the first setting for around a minute and then I will put it on the second setting for around 30 seconds for a deeper clean. I will then wash of the face wash with some water and tap it away with the same hand towel.

Before doing my whole skincare, I will do a nose strip and some eye patches. I love doing these on days I feel my face needs some TLC because the nose strip gets rid of any black heads and impurities on my nose and the eye patches brighten up my eyes and make them feel less heavy so I will apply them and wait 15 to 20 minutes before taking them off. I will rub in the left over access from the eye patches on my eyes and wipe away the black marks left behind from the nose strip, the eye patches I am using are the from Primark and the nose strips are from t-zone blackhead range.

Now I will go in with my Garnier Micellar water with a cotton pad and in circular motions, get rid of any left over makeup or impurities. The circular motion helps to get deeper into the skin to pull up the impurities. I will then go in and use the Garnier soothing botanical cleansing milk which is amazing, if you’d like a full review of the Garnier rose water collection, head over to my blog because I uploaded one a couple days ago. I applied this to a cotton pad and applied this around my face and neck in an upwards motion because this helps with preventing wrinkles because you aren’t dragging the skin down. I then went in and using the Garnier botanical toner which is amazing for soothing out the skin and getting rid of any left over makeup. I also applied this to a cotton pad and applied this to my skin and neck in an upwards motion again. These garnier rose water products are amazing because they don’t cause irritation to the skin which is something I have trouble with. Finally, I will go in and use the moisturiser also in this set and apply this to both my face and neck and then that’s it! If your interested in purchasing any of the products I’ve mentioned, I will leave the links below, I really hope you enjoyed, thank you so much for reading and until next time, goodbye x

Testing Garnier Rose Water Skincare

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. So today I am back with another skincare blog post and today I am going to be testing out Garnier makeup and the new Rose water range. If you can’t tell already, I am rather obsessed with skincare and I love testing out new skincare products. I asked on twitter on some skincare recommendations and some of you recommended the Garnier Rose water collection which comes with a soothing botanical toner, botanical day cream and soothing botanical cleansing milk. I really hope you enjoy this post, if you do, give this a like and a comment because I love receiving feedback and talking to you guys. Also if you’d like to hear more from me, give my blog a follow, I’m trying to get to 200 followers by the end of the August.

To go with testing out these products, I thought I would try out the Garnier Micellar water also, I know what your probably thinking, I’ve never tried the Garnier Micellar water? No I haven’t, I have no idea why either. All these products where so reasonable priced, both the toner and the cleansing milk were £1.69 each and the moisturiser was £2.50 and I got a mini version of the micellar water which was only £1. One thing I must add is that I’m obsessed with the packaging because it is so pretty and pink so it will look so good in photos. Another thing that I love about these products are that they are formulated just for dry and sensitive skin which is perfect for my skin because I do have very dry and sensitive skin. Another thing I absolutely love about this skincare brand is that they are all completely cruelty free which is amazing because I only use cruelty free products.

Now onto testing the products, I thought it would be a good idea to have a full face of makeup on for testing these products because the micellar water claims its meant to get rid of 100% of makeup so instead of using a face wipe firstly, i’m going to be using some cotton pads and only using the micellar water to test it out fully. The first place I wanted to test was my eyes, so I held the cotton pad on my eye for a few seconds and then I wiped it away and suprisingly, it got rid of most of my eye makeup, I just needed to run this under my eyes to get rid of any left over makeup which I was so impressed with, this product also didn’t cause any irritation to my eyes which I was worried about, I then did this on my other eye and It worked exactly the same. I then got another cotton pad and used the micellar water to run this around my face to red rid of my face makeup and this worked so well and even got rid of my MAC Lipstick which is really hard to get rid of. Based on the results, I would definitely recommend this micellar water if you don’t already own it that is.

Next up I went in and used the soothing botanical cleansing milk. This claims to sooth out the skin, remove makeup and impurities which leaves the skin feeling soothed. I put a fair amount of this onto a cotton pad and evenly placed run this over my face in circular motions. This product did get rid of a lot of left over makeup which the micellar water didn’t get rid of and I totally agree, it definitely made my skin feel so much smoother which I love. I also ran this along my neck and this got rid of any dirt that may of been on my neck, it is always important to run your skincare products along your neck because it is said that the neck is the first place that is meant to age so looking after it will slow that process down. This product didn’t cause any irritation to the skin because as I’ve said, I do have sensitive skin so I’m glad this is made for sensitive skin. Another thing I will add about these products are that they have a beautiful smell and they smell like they will really freshen up the skin.

The next product I went in and used with the soothing botanical toner. It claims that it gets rid of makeup residue and impurities along with toning the skin and leaving it feel smoothed. I also put this on a cotton wool pad and ran this along my face and neck in upwards motions which is a good time for reducing the look of wrinkles or developing them because you aren’t dragging your skin down. This product does exactly what it says it will, it got rid of some impurities and my skin felt so smooth. I have trouble trying to find a toner which doesn’t cause irritation and this one didn’t which I was really happy about.

Finally, I went in and used the botanical day cream. This claims that it intensely soothed the feel of your skin and leaving it soft and supple, it is also enriched with rose water, known for its soothing virtues also enriched in natural antioxidants to help protects the skin from the harmful affects of the environment which sounds amazing. I placed small dots of this all over my face and neck and then rubbed this in, in upwards motions and it definitely soothed out my skin, my face now feels so clean and smooth, I’ll definitely be using this on a daily basis a long with other products. I would really recommend this collection of skincare especially if you have very dry and sensitive skin, thank me later. Thank you so much for reading, until next time x

What I Got For My 19th Birthday

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. So today I am going to be telling you everything I got for my birthday which was the Saturday just gone. Before I start, I just wanted to say that in no way am I trying to brag because there were a lot of things I didn’t expect to receive and I am so grateful to the people who brought me something or gave me money, it means so much. I also wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who sent lovely messages and said happy birthday to me on both my blog and my other social media’s, it made me so much happier. Now let’s get into the part you’ve all been waiting for, what I got for my birthday. I hope you enjoy and if you do, make sure to give this a like and a comment and if you’d like to see more from me, give my blog a follow.

When I came downstairs my Mom had put a bunting up and brought me two balloons which I found so so sweet. I then opened up all my cards and I mainly got money from all of my family because they literally had no idea what to get me ahaha. My boyfriend then came over and I literally didn’t expect anything he got me, he really didn’t need to and I am so thankful for everything I got. I’ve wanted a Pandora bracelet for literally the longest time and my boyfriend got me one, it is so beautiful and I especially loved the charm because I’ve been looking at the rose gold charms for as long as I remembered and I thought they were so beautiful and in the end he got me my favourite one. I am so thankful for this and it makes me so happy looking at it. My boyfriend then also got me a Mac Liquid Lipstick which I’ve wanted for the longest time also, I got it in the shade ‘Burnt Spice’ and its the most beautiful nude colour and I’ve never been able to buy it because I thought it was way to expensive haha but I’ll definitely be purchasing more because this is such great quality and so pigmented. He then also brought me a Victoria Secret body mist in Vanilla which smells so good!! He then also took me to London which was a total shock and we went to Notting hill and then went to WestField and oxford street to do some shopping.

My Mom also got me a few things in a bag, she got me some Shampoo and Conditioner from L’oreal and she also got me a few face masks which is amazing because I love doing a good face mask. I also got a perfume from New Look which smells so so good. I also got a book called ‘how to be happy’ by Eva Woods and I’m really enjoying it already so I would really recommend the read, I’ve got this goal to at least read 3 books a month because I haven’t been reading much over the past year and I’ve been enjoying it so far. I then also got some little bits which I really liked.

I didn’t really buy much from London because I literally couldn’t find anything I wanted to buy but I did purchase a few things, I think I’m just going to save the money till I see something that I really like or till I go to Rome. The first thing that I purchased was from Zara, I brought this really beautiful top that I’ve wanted for ages bit I literally couldn’t find it anywhere in my size which was this top. I know its really out there and very colourful but I just found it so different compared to anything I own and I’ve decided to change up my style a lot more and I want to be more adventurous. This top was only £20 which I thought was so affordable for this top.

The next thing I brought were some bits from Lush that I’ve wanted to purchase for a while. I really wanted to try a different bath bomb because I’ve been purchasing the same one for the past few years and that’s sex bomb so I purchased Twilight because it smells beautiful. I also purchased a face mask and I decided to purchase Mask of Magnamity which smells so good and it definitely brightens up my skin.

I also popped into Primark where I only purchased a wrap top and a face scrubbing brush which I’ve been looking at for a while but I didn’t know if it would work. The top I got was red which dots and flowers which look beautiful on and I absolutely love the look off wrap tops. If your interested in seeing a review of the face scrubbing brush then comment down below. And that’s everything I got for my birthday, I really hoped you enjoyed the read and if you did, make sure to give it a like and ill see you next time, I hope you enjoyed x

18 Things I’ve Learnt At 18

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. So today, it is my birthday, I have turned 19 and left my year of being 18, it has been so full of emotions, both happy and sad. In celebration of my birthday, I thought I would tell you 18 things I’ve learnt from the past 18 years of my life, a lot of life lessons have been learnt and it has been one heck of a journey. If your interested, there will hopefully be a birthday haul up soon in the upcoming week and I’m so excited. I hope you enjoy this post and find it somewhat interesting or inspiring, if you do like this, give it a like and a comment and if your interested in seeing more blog posts from me, give my blog a follow.

It is okay to have bad days, weeks or months

There have definitely been rough times in my life and I have always beaten myself up for wallowing on things until I came to the realisation that it is okay to have bad days and to always give yourself time to heal. I have suffered from Depression for a couple years now, I am finally starting to feel better and I am only dealing with Anxiety, I’m glad I’ve finally learnt to give myself time and not to rush myself, there will always be bad things that happen and no matter if it takes days, weeks or months, everything will be okay in the end.

Success won’t come to you, you have to work hard to get it

When I was in high school, I had always dreamed of achieving certain things but I would always expect them to come to me until I realised I had to work hard for what I wanted. For a few years now, I’ve wanted to create my own blog but I didn’t want to start it if I didn’t have the determination and motivation to work hard for it. Going to university has also been a massive achievement for me and I wouldn’t of been able to do it if I didn’t have the motivation to strive harder.

It’s okay to have a small circle

I remember since I was young I used to feel proud of myself with the amount of friends I have but then I came to the realisation that I would rather have a small circle of friends compared to having loads of friends that you aren’t that close too, its all fun and games hanging around with loads of people but it isn’t so good when you have a problem but just want to talk to a close friend.

A whole world is out there

When I was little, I’ve always wanted to travel but I had no idea why, now, I want to travel because I want to see so many new things and I want to learn about different cultures. A whole world is out there to see and its amazing. I will have a passport by the time its my birthday so I will finally be able to see the rest of the world and I hope I’ll be able to find my true happiness somewhere.

Education is so important

In high school I used to hate going to school and learning about different things but now, I get so excited about learning about new things and that’s one of the main reasons I went to university, I like having the opportunity to learn about new things that’s also probably why I want to travel so much, I like learning about different cultures and places.

Comparing yourself to others isn’t going to make you happy

I am guilty of always comparing myself to other people and if I tell you the truth, it has never turned out to make me happy. I know its easier said than done but just try not to compare yourself to others. I have the tendency of comparing my weight to other women who are slimmer than me or are better at doing makeup than me and it just made me feel even worse about myself. I’ve learnt to try and love myself more and stop trying to change myself for others.

Taking photo’s don’t always make the memory more memorable

I am guilty of always wanting to take photos of everything and especially being a blogger, it’s quite hard to stop. There have been times where I’ve been with people and there has been a beautiful view and I have got my phone straight out to take a photo but sometimes, you just need to learn to take in the moment and that will make a bigger memory compared to being on your phone.

You don’t always have to be in a relationship to be happy

When I was younger I always used to think that being in a relationship would make me so much happier but in reality it really doesn’t. I’ve been in so many relationships that haven’t made me happy and I have felt so much happier when being single compared to being in that relationship. Some people have told me that they only feel happy when their in a relationship but if I was to give any advice, I would stay single and find yourself and be happier.

Accepting yourself is more important than anyone else

Accepting yourself for who you are is the most important thing to do compared to getting accepted by anyone else. I used to go out looking for compliments and waiting for people to accept you when in reality you only need yourself to accept yourself, it will make you so much happier in the long run.

Its okay to walk away from toxic friendships and relationships

If I’m totally honest, I have had so many toxic friendships and relationships that I’ve lost count off. Staying in a toxic friendship/relationship is probably easier to stay in compared to walking away because you don’t know what it will cause. It is definitely okay to walk away from them because I promise you, it will be way better and will make you so much happier.

Not everyone will stay in your life and never beg for them to stay

I’ve learnt through many experiences that some people just don’t stay in your life, their could be many reasons why but there is no making them stay. You should never blame yourself for someone walking out on your life you should just use it as a life lesson. One thing I’ve learnt not to do is beg for them to stay, there is no use begging for someone to stay and it will make you so much worse because you will feel that you wasn’t enough so if someone wants to leave, just let them.

Money is not everything

I’m sure everyone has had their moments where they thought money was everything and that it is all you strive for. I came from a not so privilege family and going to university, I had so much more money than I was used to but it didn’t make me any happier, yes it can be something that motivates you into trying harder but don’t see it as something to bring happiness because there is so much more that can make you happy.

Don’t obsess over anything

This may be something that you can relate to, sometimes you work yourself up so much over something that in the end doesn’t matter. I am guilty of obsessing over certain things and that’s not going to solve anything so just let it flow and what happens, happens.

Keep a good skincare routine

Until around 6 months ago, I never really had a well planned skincare routine which sounds really bad but true. Having a good skincare routine is amazing because it can make you feel so much more confident if your skin is clear and it is so important to look after your skin.

Always make time for yourself

Making time for yourself is so important, this is because you need time away from everything to think through things and to heal. Taking time to pamper yourself can help you to feel so much more calmer and it can teach you to love yourself gradually.

Your parents are always your best friends no matter how old you get

Your parents are the most important people you will ever know and they will always be there no matter how old you get. I’m so much more closer to my Mum than my Dad but I always know that there’s no one who will care about you more than your parents and if you need someone, you can always run back to them.

Dress to impress for yourself

When it comes to clothing and makeup, it is common that you stick to a certain type of clothing or a certain makeup look but why not try something different, wear that dress that you wouldn’t normally feel confident in and wear that lip colour you don’t feel confident wearing, it doesn’t matter what others think, all that matters is what you think of yourself and always dress for YOURSELF, never dress for anyone else.

Chase your dreams

If you don’t ask for it, you don’t get so why don’t you ask for that job opportunity and why don’t you book that flight. It is always important to reflect on your dreams and to achieve them because it is so important to have dreams because it gives you motivation to strive.

That’s the end to my 18 things I’ve learnt before turning 19, let me know in the comments how old you are and what your biggest life lesson has been.

My Goals For Being 19

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am back with another birthday related blog post and today I am going to be telling you my top 5 goals for being 19. I turn 19 tomorrow so I thought I would put together my top 5 goals for the upcoming year. I’ve had some of these goals for a while but I’ve never accomplished them and my aim is to be able to do them this year. I really hope you enjoy this post, if you do, give this a like and a comment and if your interested in seeing more from me, follow my blog for more.

Develop myself mentally and physically

One of my main goals of this year is to develop myself mentally and physically, what I mean by this is that I want to develop my self-esteem and aim to love myself and put myself first. I’ve always had a really bad self esteem but has risen since last year and I really want to aim to grow that and become more resilient to other people’s opinions because they don’t matter. I also want to learn how to deal with my Anxiety better and not let it stop me from doing certain things. As in physically, I want to keep up going to the gym and eating healthier because it has made me feel so much healthier and gives me so much more energy, going to the gym has become my happy place and I want to maintain that and also push myself and start doing some classes.

Get my first tattoo

I’ve wanted to get a tattoo for the longest time but I’ve never had ID or the confidence to get one. I’ve been spending years looking for the perfect tattoo and now I’ve finally found one. I really want to be able to push myself and get my tattoo because the longer I leave it, the longer I’ll regret it and over think it. I’ve always loved the look of tattoos and I know some people don’t like them but I see them as another form of showing your personality and they can also paint a story of another which I find rather beautiful. My aim is to either get one in August or when I get back to university, I’d absolutely love to get one while I go abroad but I don’t know if I fully trust them.

Travel as much as possible

If you’ve read any of my most recent blog posts, you would know that I’ve recently got my passport and my ultimate dream is the see the world and I truly believe that I’ll find myself and leave a bit of my self in each country. I’ve already book to go to Rome for 5 days in September which is on my travel bucket list, If you haven’t already seen that, go over to my blog and it should be there. I’m already planning to go to Berlin in January too so hopefully it will be an exciting year. I also want to do things I’ve never done before like water sports etc because I really want to try new things and I feel it would really help me deal with my anxiety a lot better.

Build up my blog to be the best it can be

So recently, I’ve been trying so hard with my blog but I have also been lacking motivation on what blog posts to write. I really want to start planning out my blog posts and putting out the best content I possibly can because blogging has become my favourite hobby and I want to try my best with it. I also want to start interacting with you all because when I started blogging, I really wanted to meet new people and do what I love and that’s what I intend to do, I also want to make some blogging friends because I feel it would make my blog so much better. I also want to reach out to more companies on partnerships because I feel it would help with my blog so much.

Work harder at university and not let my grades define me

My first year of university was very weird and even though I tried really hard, I wasn’t getting the grades I was expecting to get and that really got me down but now, it has really motivated me to try harder and use more strategies to revising and to learn a different way of writing. I’m also not going to let my grades define me and I’m not going to let them get me down, I’m really motivated to start year 2 of university and to learn new things. One of my main aims is to plan out everything I’m writing and to spend a lot of time doing assignments and preparing for exams, I’m not saying I’m going to spend 2 hours every night revising or doing work but whenever I have free time, I am going to schedule some time to do some work because I know it would really help. That’s the end to my 5 goals of being 19, I’m really excited for this next chapter and year and I really hope I can achieve all of them, let me know down below what one of your goals is, I would be really intreaged to know, my next post is tomorrow, on my birthday, I hope you enjoyed, until next time x

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) My Birthday Pamper Routine

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am going to be talking you through my pamper routine for my birthday which is on Saturday, I will be doing this pamper routine on the Friday evening. I know I’ve only just uploaded my pamper routine for the warm weather but this is different, I am going to be doing some things differently and adding some different things. I thought on the night before my birthday I would give myself a good pamper ready for my actual birthday, it is also a good idea to give yourself a pamper every once in a while because our bodies get us through so many things and we should learn to love it. I really hope you enjoy and don’t find this too repeatative, the last one did so well so I’m guessing you enjoyed. If you do, give this post a like and a comment and if your interested in seeing more from me (I have more birthday blog posts going up) then give my blog a follow, it would mean a lot.

First things first, I will put my bedding in the wash because having fresh bedding is literally the best and makes your bed feel so much more comfy, it also makes you so excited to get into bed. Once this is dry, I will go into my room and make my bed before going to run myself a bath. The bath bomb I decided to use was twilight because I’ve never used this one before so I thought I’d try something different and it smells so good and it makes a beautiful pattern, this is where I’ll take the time to shave my legs and under my arms and exfoliate my skin preparing my skin for tanning. I will then just have a relax in the bath and read a book, the one I’m reading at the moment is “the perks of a wallflower” which I’ve read literally 50 times but it never gets boring. Once I get out the shower, I will put on my pj’s and use my coca butter moisturiser because it makes it so much easier to apply fake tan and help it not look patchy.

The fake tan I am going to be using today is the St Moriz in shade Medium because I am very pale and I don’t want the tan to look too orange. My best advice with applying fake tan is to use an applicator because it stops your hands from going orange which lasts almost a week, trust me. If you don’t have an applicator, you could use a sock because this would in turn make it so much easier to apply. The tan I’m using today takes around 6 hours to develop so it gives me loads of time to get other things done. First things first, I will shake the bottle and then apply the tiniest bit to my leg, using the applicator, I will rub this in all over the area it was applied to and then I will gradually go further up but I will also make sure I don’t leave any patches because there’s nothing worse than having a streaky and patchy tan, I will apply the tan to my whole body minus my face. I haven’t been fake tanning for long so if you have any advice on how to apply fake tan easier then let me know in the comments.

Throughout the period of waiting for my tan to develop, I will organise all my makeup and what I’m wearing for my birthday so it is all organised and I don’t need to rush round finding it in the morning. I’m hoping to god it’s not going to train on my birthday because I’m planning on wearing a dress. I will also take the time to carry on writing the blog post I am going to be uploading on the date of my birthday and its such a long one. I will then spend a few hours watching some Netflix and reading my book. I thought because I’m not going to be doing anything for the next couple hours, I would tell you what I want for my birthday, in no means am I expecting to get these things and I would be lucky enough to get one of them, so the things I want are, a Pandora bracelet, I’ve literally wanted one for years so getting one would be amazing, I also want a mac liquid lipstick in the shade Burnt Spice because it looks like such a beautiful nude shade and everyone needs one, I would also love to go on a trip to Paris because I recently got my Passport and I am eager to go somewhere and I’d also like some money to get some new clothes because I definitely need a wardrobe revamp. I will be uploading a what I got for my birthday on the Monday after my birthday hopefully.

Now, I will plan on going in the shower but first things first, I will apply a face mask, the one I am going to use is the Superdrug peel off mask because I find it way more satisfying and easier to peel off a mask. I will then hop in the shower. I will shampoo my hair and then I will use a hair mask that I got from Body care which was only 89p and I would really recommend these. The day I am uploading this, I got my hair cut and it just needs some nourishing, the one I purchased is meant to make your hair look shiny and that’s exactly how I want my hair to look. When I have washed this out my hair, I will just put a tiny but more conditioner in and wash my body to get the rest of the last over tan off. Before getting out the shower, I will wash my face using the t-zone face wash which is so good.

I will then put my pj’s back on and do my skincare, if you want to read an in depth skincare routine, here’s the link. The first thing I will use is my micellar water on both my face and my neck to get rid of any left over makeup. I will then go in with a toner to brighten up my skin and to replenish my skin. Lastly, I will use my Simple kind to skin SPF moisturiser and rub it in all over my face and neck. Lastly, I will go in and use my t-tree overnight spot cream on any blemishes I may have. I will then head up to bed and watch some YouTube before getting ready to go to sleep. I really hope you enjoyed this post, I’m sorry its a long one but I just wanted to explain things a bit more. Thank you so much for reading, until next time x

A Pamper Routine for Warm Weather

Hey everyone, I hope your all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am back with something I love to talk about, pampering yourself, who doesn’t love a good pamper, pampering yourself seems like a lot of hastle in the summer especially when you come in super sweaty, I’m guilty of just using a face wipe to get rid of all my makeup and that be the end of it but sometimes I really feel like I need a good pampering to have a relax after a hard day. I hope you enjoy this post, give this post a like and a comment and if you want to see more posts from me, give my blog a follow for more.

The first thing I will do is start running myself a bath, normally I will use a bath bomb, more likely from Lush, my favourite bath bomb is “sex bomb” its so lovely scented and they always linger on the skin for a while. I will then use a face wipe just to take off all my makeup so then I can put a face mask on, the one I use is the L’oreal brightening mask, I really like this mask because it really smooths my skin and also helps to brighten up my face. I will also use a hair mask in the shower because my hair has become very dry in this heat so it needs as much nourishment as possible. Once I get out of the bath, I will get into my comfy pj’s and have a relax while binge watching Netflix. I’ve been watching a lot of films recently and one of my favourites has got to be “the kissing booth”, this is an amazing film if you want to feel warm hearted, it is a romantic film but I really enjoyed it and there has been a lot of reviews on twitter which is where I got the recommendation from.

Next I will do my full skincare routine, the first thing I will use is my miceller water just to get rid of any left over makeup off my skin. I will then use my face cleansing milk to make my skin feel soft and cleansed and then I will go in and use my skin toner, I love this product because it always makes my skin feel so much cleaner and softer. I will then go in with my moisturiser and place that all over my face and neck, I will also then put on some overnight spot cream on any blemishes I may have, I’ve been really good at trying to keep my face clear, it always makes me feel so much more confident. I will then go in and use my skin moisturiser and rub that all over my body, if I’m planning on going out the next day, I will fake tan, I’ve only just got in to tanning because I’ve felt really pale. The wash off one is so good because it only lasts a day so there’s no worrying of it going patchy.

At this time I will probably be hungry and as I am doing my pamper routine, I will tend to eat a bit healthier, in this case, I decided to make some chicken and veg and put it into a giant Yorkshire pudding topped with gravy. I will normally sit on my phone while eating. Once I’ve eaten, I like to take around an hour without using any electronics, especially my phone and take my time doing something else. I will either read a book or I will do some exercise. Exercising always makes me feel so much calmer and stress free, exercising has probably been the best decision I’ve made and its made me feel so much fitter. If your ever feeling stressed or anxious, I would recommend doing some exercise or either do some meditation.

After the hour, I will then go up to bed and plan and write out some blog posts. I’ve been trying so hard to write really good blog posts at the moment and as my birthday is coming up soon, I’ve been trying to plan ahead with them. After that I will probably just spend the night relaxing and watching Netflix, let me know in the comments what you do on your pamper routine.

Easy Summer Makeup Look Using 5 Products

Hey everyone, I hope your all doing well and welcome to my blog. First of all I apologise that there was no blog post on Monday, I did write one but the internet was playing up so it some how deleted and I didn’t have the time to write it out again so there will only be 2 blog posts uploaded this week, I have loads more blog posts up on my blog already and I did upload 4 posts last week so it kinda makes up for it. So today, I thought I would put together an easy summer makeup looking only using 5 products, in the UK recently, its been really warm and I’ve not bothered putting a whole face of makeup on if its just going to sweat off later on in the day. Picking 5 products was pretty hard because in total, I use about 10 products so halving it deemed to be hard. I narrowed it down to the most important things and I made an easy full face of makeup. I hope you enjoy this blog post, if you do, give this post a like and a comment and if your interested in seeing more blog posts from me, give my blog a follow.

The first product I’ve decided to use was concealer, as it is my time of the month, I have quite a few blemishes and spots so there was no doubt that I’d want to cover them up, usually, I have very clear skin which is amazing. I used the Collection Lasting Perfection in shade 0 Extra Fair which is literally the exact same colour as my skin tone and has soon become one of my favourite concealers. Using this concealer, I placed this all over my blemishes and under my eyes and in some places I tent to have redness and then using my finger, I blended this all in. As I don’t use Foundation, this was an easy step for me.

The second product I decided to use was powder, I have very oily skin especially in the warm weather so if I didn’t powder I would just look like an oily mess. The powder I used was the Rimmel stay matte in shade Translucent which is amazing because it doesn’t leave an orange patches around my face. What I really like about this powder also is that you don’t need to use a lot of it because it matifies your face instantly. Using a powder brush, I placed this all over my face till my face was matte.

Next up eyebrows, there was never a doubt that I wouldn’t fill in my eyebrows, simply because I have the palest eyebrows ever so if I didn’t fill them in, I’d literally have non. For this I decided to use use the Ps 3-in-1 brow pencil, simply because it has a pencil and powder making it easier to fill in my eyebrows. Using the pencil side of it, I carved out my eyebrows and the arch, this makes it easier to fill them in and to create the perfect brow. I then went in with the spoolie to fade out the lines so they aren’t as harsh. Using the powder, I filled in the rest of my eyebrows.

As I don’t have much leg way for my eyes, the only product I could use was mascara because it would look weird if I either just used eye shadow or eyeliner. I used the miss sporty mascara which is really good for building both volume and length which is definitely what you need when you haven’t done any more eye makeup. I applied this to my lashes and layered it so I could get the perfect lashes.

Lastly, for lips. I used my MUA luxe matte lipstick in Tranquility, this is a really good lipstick if you want it to last on your lips all day, I’ve tested it before, I applied it at 9 in the morning and it was still on by 7 at night, isn’t that amazing? its only £3 also. All I did was apply this all over my lips, and that is the finished look. Its such an easy look to wear when your in a rush also so I definitely do wear this to university. Till next time, thank you for reading x

Testing Revolution Soph x Extra Spice Palette | First impressions & Swatches

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome back to my blog. Today I am back with a very exciting post and its testing the new Revolution Soph x Extra Spice palette. If you haven’t seen already, I have tested the first Soph x palette so if you’d like to see that then look back on some of my old blog posts. I was very excited to test out this palette because the colours are right up my street and I love every shade. I didn’t get any of the lipsticks to test out just because I have so many lipsticks in similar shades but they look really good also. I hope you enjoy this post, if you do, make sure to like and comment on this post and follow my blog for more.

Firstly, I am going to show you the packaging and the shades firstly, its such a beautiful palette and comes in such nice packaging.

The outer packaging to the palette is really nice, its a golden orange colour and the name is in a nude colour which looks really nice, I like how on the packaging of the Revolution palettes on the back they show a picture of all the different shades which I think makes a great touch to the packaging and gives a good insight into what the shades will be like which is ideal when your in a shop so you don’t have to open up the packaging. When you take the palette out of the packaging the top of the palette is a rose gold shade which looks really pretty and I feel it makes the palette look more expensive than it is. This palette was only £10 which was a bargain and I think all the lipsticks are all £4 each. The lettering is in a nude shade similar to her first palette, one thing I really like about this palette is that the names of the shades are underneath the colours which I think is a nice alternative to the slip of paper that used to come with the Revolution palettes because I’ve lost every single one of them ahaha. From looking at the shades straight away, my two favourites would have to be TWENTY ONE and VITAMIN C, they just look like such different colours and I love experimenting with my eye shadow and I feel you can create a lot of great looks using this palette which is perfect for summer.

Every shade in the palette is really pigmented and there is a great variety of shades in here. The black shade is so pigmented, with some palettes, the black shades always seem to let you down but this one really didn’t, its so pigmented and dark and it isn’t patchy at all. The shimmer shades are amazing and very pigmented along with the matte ones. I don’t think there’s any shade in this palette that isn’t pigmented. I definitely think its worth the price of £10 especially for 18 shades. which works out as 50p per shade which I think you will agree, is amazing.

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 6 GMT for another post…

Ugly Location Photo-shoot Challenge

Hey, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am back with something a little different, I am back with a photography type post. I’ve seen this challenge around everywhere on YouTube but I haven’t really seen it on any blog accounts. Thanks to my boyfriend, I am going to be doing the ugly location photo-shoot challenge. My boyfriend has helped me so much recently on my blog and I appreciate it so much. Where I go to university, there are some good parts but there’s also some rough parts so me and my boyfriend put together a list of places we thought would make a great ugly location and worked together to get some decent shots bearing in mind he isn’t a photographer. Let’s get straight into the post, if you enjoy, make sure to follow my blog for more and like and comment on this post.

Location #1- Local park

Parks are pretty and all but this park where I go to university is quite run down and everything has rusted. While we were walking round, we came across these flowers which I thought were really pretty and I thought I would sit between them and then my boyfriend (Josh) would stand on the other side and crouch down. And these are the finished images. I absolutely love them and I want to post them everywhere, Josh did an amazing job with these ones.

LRM_EXPORT_20180610_193512

When we finished taking photos here, we were looking round and we saw the tennis courts and I thought that this location would make a really good background for a photo and we had this idea where I stand behind the bars and Josh stands at the other side and I think these turned out alright, their not my favourite but I think their pretty cool.

LRM_EXPORT_20180610_175653

The last place we went to while at this location is this bridge type thing that looked really run down but I thought it made a cute prob for the photo and made a good background. I really like this images which are already on my Instagram if you haven’t already seen. I took a few with my jacket over my shoulders and some without.

Location #2- Big Garden

A few weeks ago me and my boyfriend went to this garden that was a few minutes up the road and there was this abandoned building as we were walking round and I thought it could make a really edgy and cool. Josh crouched down onto the floor to get a whole body shot and I feel like this turned out really well.

LRM_EXPORT_20180610_183209

The next location here was only a two minute walk away and it was a path that looked really run down and the stairs had rushed etc and I really love the first one because I’m on the floor and I feel it makes the picture look so much nicer. We also took some whole body shots and I really like how these turned out.

Location #3- Canal path-

When I was thinking of doing this challenge, the first thing I thought of was a graffiti wall and as I walk down to the local shops by my university, there’s a canal you walk down and there are loads of walls around that have graffiti all over. This was probably the hardest place to get photos as it looked really run down and I had no idea how to make these look good but in the end, I think they turned out rather good and I think they look really edgy. The second image was taken in front of a flower bush just behind the wall so they are in the same location.

LRM_EXPORT_20180610_185442

LRM_EXPORT_20180610_185035

When we were looking around this location, we came across some bins and I thought this would be perfect for this challenge, I don’t really like how the pictures turned out in the end but I do think they look pretty cool and I think I would be able to upload them to Instagram.

 LRM_EXPORT_20180612_001524

And that is the end to the ugly location photo shoot challenge, I really enjoyed doing this challenge and it just goes to show that if you have a great imagination, you don’t need to be in a pretty location to be able to get good photos, I hope you enjoyed, let me know down below which location was your favourite. Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 6 GMT for another post…

My Workout Routine

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am going to be talking you through my workout routine which I have finally put together after 2 months of experimenting. I’ve also changed up my diet so I’m going to be showing you what I eat in a day, I’ve tried to cut out all the junk food like chocolate, crisps and takeaways and trying to incorporate fruit and vegetables into my diet more and more. I am also vegetarian besides chicken and dairy free because I am lactose intolerant. I have been aiming to going to the gym everyday and having the day off on a Sunday, in today’s blog post I am going to be showing you my workout routine for everyday of the week, from Monday to Saturday, most days I do try to go to the gym but some days if I am unable to, I will do some exercises at home instead. I also try to have days where I purely concentrate on arms and back and then abs and then arms, as I feel like this works best for me. If you are interested in seeing any other workout routines, I have a board on my Pinterest (username- chloebrazierrr) showing some workout routines for each core workout, which is where most of my workouts have come from. I also stretch before I do all of my exercises which has also came from Pinterest and I feel this is so important to stop from aching also drinking loads of water while exercising is so important to keep yourself hydrated. Id just like to add, after each workout on each day, I like to go on the treadmill for around half an hour to get some cardio in and to burn some more calories, I’m adding this here so I don’t need to explain after each workout.

Monday-

On Monday, I like to do a whole body workout as I had the day off on a Sunday and after this workout, I always feel so refreshed and ready for the rest of the week. The first thing I will do is to stretch, when I first started working out I would always forget and I always used to be so achy till I started stretching and it just helps to activate the muscles and reduce body aches.

img_5834

Tuesday-  Leg Day  15 reps, 3 sets

On a Tuesday, I like to concentrate on my legs and abs, this workout really helps work on your thighs and bum and also helps with abs which I really like. I like doing workouts which focuses on more than one thing.

img_5835

Wednesday-

On a Wednesday I will primarily focus on arms and abs, when going to the gym, my main aim was to lose weight on both my arms and abs and this workout really helps to build muscle along with burning fat. I also think this is a great workout for toning, I will do 10 reps of each in 3 sets.

img_5840

Thursday-

On a Thursday, I like to have a bit of a break from the week, I will do a light workout and this workout focuses on arms and abs, I find this a lot easier to do and it also gives me more time to do some cardio, I will mainly do this on the treadmill and the step machine.

5acda593-34c2-4b79-abc7-6cb950619d39

Friday-

This is a very intense workout which focuses on abs, glutes and thighs and I find this a very effective workout, I always leave with my legs aching. I will normally do 10 reps of each in 3 sets.

img_5838

Saturday-

For the last day of the week. I will do a primarily strength training workout which targets different points of the body which is really effective and is also a good workout to end the week on. I will normally do 10 reps of each in 3 sets.

img_5836

Sunday-

Rest day

Recently, I’ve also been doing these 7 minute workouts on YouTube which are really effective and sometimes feel like I’m doing and burning more than I do from a whole hour at the gym, I always come out sweating. This is the link.

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) Summer Morning Routine

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and having a lovely week. Today I am back with a new blog post and I am going to be talking you through what I get up to in the mornings. I do have one of these already on my blog Morning Routine but this was what I did on the morning I have university and now that I have finished University for the year I thought I would update you on what I do on a summer morning. I hope you enjoy this post and it was really requested on my twitter, If you do, give this post a like and a comment and if I get to 20 likes, I will do an updated evening routine, give me a follow for more.

On an average day I will wake up at around 9:30/10:00, I always feel so lazy if i wake up any later because I feel like the morning is over if I wake up any later. The first thing I do is open up the curtains to let some light in and then I will grab my bottle of water and drink some water to hydrate myself. I always wake up really dehydrated so I need a lot of water.

On a good day, which is not most, I will go to the gym first thing so I can get it out of the way and this really helps to boost your metabolism throughout the day and this really helps to wake me up and energised for the rest of the day. I tend to stay at the gym for around an hour dependant on the workout I’m doing, if you want to see my workout routine, this will be uploaded on Friday so keep an eye out for that. When I get back from the gym, I am usually dying so I will quickly jump in the shower to freshen up.

When I get out of the shower, I put my clothes on for the day and dry my hair and then I will go into the kitchen and make some breakfast. On this specific day I just had some wholemeal toast with a glass of orange juice. When I get back into my room I will make my bed because I always forget and it makes my room look so much messier than it actually is so I will make that and then I will sit back on bed and write a blog post, I always get my inspiration in the mornings so I will always try to at least start a blog post or plan some because I’ve had a lot of motivation recently so I like to maintain that. I will usually spend around 45 minutes doing this dependent how long of a blog post I am writing and then I will catch up on some YouTube videos.

On the day I was writing this, I had quite a busy day and had to go to into town to get a few things so I will spend around 15 minutes doing my makeup and then I will curl my hair. I’ve been liking wearing less makeup recently and curling my hair and making an effort with my hair, I feel as if it looks way more natural and good on an everyday basis. I will then go out of the door and get on with the rest of the day. And that is the end of my morning routine. Is there anything different you do on a morning? I’d be interested to know.

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 6 GMT for another post…

Bright Summer Makeup Look

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and I hope you have a lovely week. Today I am back with Makeup Monday and I am going to show you how to achieve this makeup look, primarily focusing on the eyes. Today I thought I would show you how to easily incorporate bright eye shadow into your everyday makeup without it looking to bold and in your face. I am using a drugstore palette which is really affordable and very pigmented. With this look I have mixed bright colours mainly pink with a hint of orange. If your interested in how I did this, just keep reading. If you enjoy this blog post and would like to see more from me, check out my other blog posts and follow for more. Lets get straight into the tutorial.

Firstly I will make sure to use a moisturiser, the one I am using today is SPF moisturiser as I have very pale skin and I get burnt very very easily so I have to keep protected. The first product I will go in with the Collection Lasting Perfection in Shade 1 along with the Ps Pro Concealer in shade 1 on my blemishes and under my eyes and any red patches on my face, I either blend in my concealer with a small flat top brush or when I’m in a rush, I just use my fingers because it is super quick and easy. After I’ve blended all of this in, I will go in and use my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent using a fluffy brush and gently apply this to my face to give my face a matte finish. I will then take my Collection Contour and Highlight Kit and use that contour shade and place it on my cheek bones and my forehead just so I can create that dimension and to give me a bit of colour because I’m very pale. Finally for my base, highlighter, I will use a Freedom highlighter where the shade name has rubbed off and apply this to the top of my cheek bones and along my nose and Cupid’s bow which is what I normally do.

After my base makeup is complete, I will then go in and do my eyebrows which are the most important part of makeup besides eye shadow. As I am very fair skinned, my eyebrows are very light and very blonde so I have to fill them in to be able to see them. Today I am going to be using my trusty RevolutionPro Brow Pomade in dark Brown firstly I will stencil around my brows to get the perfect brow shape and then I will gently fill in the middle of my brows and this creates the perfect look, I do tend to spend a bit of time on my brows as I want them to look perfect.

For my eye shadow today, which is the star of the show, I am going to be using two palettes, the first one being my MUA pro in shade Vixen and an orange eye shadow from the PS range in Primark. Seeing as these palettes don’t have names, I will insert an image and place a dot on all the shades that were used in this eye look.  I will firstly go in with the lightest shade from the MUA palette and place this through my crease to create a base, I will then take the light pink shade and place this through my crease as a transition shade and to help build up the colour. Using the darkest and brightest pink shade, I will run this through my crease and mainly all over my lid and lower lash line as the main colour. Going in with the PS palette, which may I say the eye shadow’s were 60p each, yes 60p, I took the orange shade and placed this all over my lid and blend this in with the pink. Using a hint of the yellow shade, I placed this over the orange shade to make it brighter. As for my eyeliner, I will use a Collection eyeliner to create a thin line on my eye and then I will create a small flick at the end. Using my trusty Primark Mascara I place a couple layers of this onto my eyelashes to make them look longer. I’m on the hunt for a new affordable Mascara so if you have any suggestions, I’d love to know.

img_5832

Finally, my lip shade, I recently purchased a matte liquid lipstick from Essence and now I use it almost daily, its very subtle but is also very fun, especially for everyday summer wear, This lipstick is also very pigmented. Its in the shade 02- approved. And that’s my finished makeup look, I hope you got some inspiration on the makeup you are going to be wearing throughout the summer.

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 6 GMT for another post…

Updated Skincare Routine- Summer 2018

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog. Today I am going to be showing you my updated skincare routine, this has changed quite a lot since my last one as I have been experimenting and testing out new skincare. I’ve been really into looking after my skin and clearing out my skin before summer. In the summer time, I don’t really like to wear foundation and just light skin products as I like to show my freckles and just feels so much lighter on my skin. As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been testing out a lot of new skincare products and all these have been incorporated into my skincare routine. I’ve been really intreaged in testing out loads of new face masks as I’ve been interested to see how well they work on my skin, one of my favourites which I tested out the other day and it was a bubble mask from Primark which was only 80 p which I would really recommend, now lets get onto my actual skincare routine. I do most of my skincare both morning and evening but I try to use a bit more products in the evening as I want to remove all the makeup from the day.

img_5567

Morning Skincare routine-

In the morning I like to have a bit of a refresh ready for the rest of the day and I like to start of with my trusty T-zone skincare clear pore facial wash, as you can tell by the image, I have used a lot of this product because its just that good, It really wakes me up and helps to brighten up my skin in the morning. I don’t really do much skincare in the morning but I just like to go over my face to get rid of any left over makeup from the night before. I scrub this face wash into my face until all my face is clear and then I will wash it off with my towel. I will then take my Micellar water from DermaV10 which I’ve also used quite a lot of and again I use this to get rid of any left over makeup from the night before and to get rid of any dirt that has came on to my skin during the night. This cleansing water really helps to cleanse and smooth my skin which makes applying makeup so much easier. I will then take a little bit of my skin tonic from Primark on a cotton pad and rub this around my face, this contains Vitamin E which is really good for the skin and this tonic really helps to balance and refresh my skin. Lastly, I will then take my Skin therapy light hydrating moisturiser and pop this in little dots all over my face and not to forget my neck and then I rub this in using my fingers, I never used to use moisturiser on a regular basis which sounds really bad but now I’ve got into the routine of using it every morning and night and I have seen a vast improvement in the condition of my skin and I have less dry patches upon my skin. This moisturiser is also really good for soothing my face and making it soft, and that is my morning skincare routine.

Evening skincare routine-

img_5664

As you can see in the image above, their are a lot of skincare products, trust me, I don’t use all of these every evening. Firstly I will take my Primark face wipes and take off the majority of my makeup including my eye makeup and then simularly to my morning routine I will go in with my t-zone facial wash and get rid of the left over makeup on my face and this just helps to cleanse my skin from all the makeup that has been on my skin. Every week, I try to do at least one face mask, there isn’t one in the image purely because I’ve used all mine up and I need to go get some new ones, some of my favourite face masks are from Primark and they are only 80p which is so affordable and each one contains different properties aimed towards different skin types and what you want the face mask to acheive, I tend to use brightening and cleansing face masks and some times t-tree face masks but recently, since fully taking care of my skin, I have seen a vast improvement in the skin and it has cleared up so much. I will then take my micellar water and my skin toner on a cotton pad and simultaniously rub them into my skin, this really helps to get rid of any makeup and dirt bit also helps to cleanse and sooth the face. After that I will take my moisturiser and dot it around my face and neck and rub that in leaving my face moisturised and smooth. On an evening, I will take my skin therapy overnight calming blemish serum and place this on some blemishes I may have and this just helps to get rid of any pores I may have and also reduces redness which I generally do suffer from. Simuarly to doing a face mask, I will also try to do a nose strip and an eye patch at least once every week. The nose strips are from t-zone and they are charcoal and I like to do one of these each week because it helps to get rid of any blackheads I may have on my nose and also unclogs any pores I may have on my nose because this is a general area I tend to get spots. I also like to use gel eye patches which are from skinacademy which are really good because every once in a while my eyes tend to get really dry and I start to get dark circles and these patches are great for that. I will just place them under my eyes and leave them there for around 25 minutes and then I will take them off and rub in the excess, this really hydrates under my eyes. And that is my finished evening skincare routine.

My First year of University Experience- Was it what I was expecting??

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well, welcome to my blog. In today’s blog post, I am going to be talking about my First year of university experience, I’m going to be covering a variety of things, my course, the accommodation and my social life and anything that comes to mind really. Over the past month, I’ve slowly been finishing off assignments and doing some exams but now I’ve finally finished my first year of university and have loads of time to just relax now. When I finally decided to go to university, I was very anxious about what to expect and if I’d make any friends or if anyone will like me. Now that my first year of university is over, I’ve finally decided that coming to university was the best decision I probably ever made. It has taught me so much already and I’m so excited for the next two years. There are a lot of questions a person should be asking themselves and worrying about when it comes to going to university, how are you going to budget your money and are you going to get on with your flat mates??

img_1660

The first thing I am going to talk about it the process of moving there and if it was scary or not. If you don’t already know, I go to Staffordshire university and currently studying Forensic Psychology. When it came to moving into university and the months leading up to it, I remember buying loads of things for my room and the kitchen and also stationary which now I look at it, I didn’t use half of it, I remember thinking that i’d need loads of stationary but in reality, all you need is a notebook for going to lectures and maybe another notebook for writing hard notes that are neat and some pens and highlighters, I didn’t use any of the folders or anything I brought. Another necessity for university is a laptop, if you don’t already own one before university, I would advise to have a laptop because having a laptop makes it so much more easier to study and produce assignments. I brought so much bedding because obviously I needed 4 throws for my bed ahaha, I only ever used two of them to alternate on my bed. If you’d be interested in a rough list of what things you need to buy, I’d love to do that for you!! I’m already dreading moving out of my accommodation in the next month as I have so many things but I’m planning on getting rid of most of it. Another thing I’ve learnt about buying for university is only buying the things that you actually need, if you see anything and think you need it, question yourself first and how many times your going to use it because no doubt, you probably won’t use it as much as you think.

When it comes to moving into the accommodation, I would recommend going on a university accommodation tour when you go on an open day as you will get a feel of which accommodation you would best feel comfortable in living in, I didn’t go on an accommodation tour but I applied for the on-suite and thankfully I was offered on-suite. When I was thinking about accommodation, I remember never wanting to share a toilet with anyone and having on-suite has been so efficient for me. When it comes to meeting your flat mates, what I did was use the university Facebook page and managed to find two of my flat mates and started talking to them on their, also the first night I got to university, we all sat in the kitchen for around an hour trying to get to know each other, for a few weeks I would talk to a few of my flat mates but at the end of the year we only talk when we bump into each other cooking in the kitchen, it was clear from the start that we probably wouldn’t all talk but my friend from university talks to all her flat mates and is moving in with them again next year, I think it all just depends on the individuals in the flat and you shouldn’t feel down if you don’t get on with you. I’m really going to miss living in the accommodation I live in now, it has been so refreshing being able to live alone and being able to learn the concepts of having no one to depend on and becoming fully independent which I was really excited about when moving to university.

When looking back on the first year of university, I had a very rough start and my anxiety was at its highest and I went through a very short period of wanting to just leave and go back home and get a job, luckily, I met one of my friends on welcome week and she knew how I felt so she started inviting me round her flat etc and I met so many new people which have now become the best people I’ve ever known and I’m honestly so thankful for them, the saying is true, you really do find your true friends when attending university. Making friends was my main worry when coming to university but it was so much easier than I thought, there are so many people at the start of university in the same boat as you so it is so much easier to find your own group and meeting new people, I remember going to a few flat parties and I met so many people. everyone is always looking to get to know someone and that’s what I love about university, you very quickly find where you fit in and become more confident around them. Another thing I wanted to mention is about alcohol, If you go to university with a belief where you don’t want to drink or just simply don’t like the idea of drinking then please don’t, you should never feel like you need to drink to make friends, the only reason I decided too was it made me so much more confident and I met so many friends. Also, never do anything you don’t feel comfortable with doing especially if its just to fit in, you don’t need alcohol to fit it at all, just be yourself and the right people will come to you.

Another tip I have with socialising at university is there are loads of socializing events around university like ember which is a resturant and LRV which is both a night club on campus and a pub type place. I would really recommend inviting people to go to places with you so maybe you can meet some new friends.

Now onto my course, as I’ve mentioned before, I study Forensic Psychology and the first year of university has been really hard, in total, I’ve had 6 assingments and 4 exams in total, which does seem like a lot but they have been spread out throughout the year and two semesters. All the modules have been really fun and interesting to learn about and I have learnt through lectures and seminars. My time table was not full on and the most I had on a day was a Tuesday where I only have 4 hours in total but they were spread out throughout the day. I would recommend throughout the day of having lectures, do some extra reading around the subjects, this will help have your own interpretation around the subject and help in exams and assignments, I produced a blog post a while ago on my study tips MY STUDY WITH ME AS A UNIVERSITY STUDENT- WEDNESDAY EDITION

When it comes to budgeting and paying rent etc, all the adult stuff. Rent works differently with different universities but my rent came out the same day as my student loan came it making it so much more easier to budget money and see how much money you have left. One thing I learnt from my semester is to not go shopping when your hungry or when you haven’t made a shopping list as you will go into the shop and pick up things you may think you need when you really don’t. On average, I spend up to £20 on an average week on food and i don’t really know if that’s alright but recently I’ve changed up my diet quite a lot and it’s been really hard to have all the fruit and veg stay fresh throughout the week. Another tip is to not go shopping until all your food is gone and you urgently need to go shopping, what I found when it came to shopping and food, I’d have a schedule where I’d go shopping every Sunday even though I still had food in the flat so they never got eaten and I somehow accumulated 3 draws of frozen food and had to throw most of it away at the end of the year.

Throughout the year I’ve also had to look for year two accommodation which was easier than I expected but it is important to make sure to look through the paper work before signing and to look round as many accommodations as you would like, it is also important to move in with people you trust because nothing would be worse than living with people you hardly know and going through the process of meeting new people, I know it seems like a long time away and you are completely focusing on first year, first year will fly by and it has honestly felt like a month, I’m going to miss the experience throughout the summer.

Home sickness was another thing I suffered from in the first couple months and it is totally normal to experience it, just remember your family and friends are only a phone call away and you can go home at the weekend whenever you want. I’m sorry that this blog post was rather long, there was so much I wanted to cover and there are still some things I want to talk about but I may mention them in other university related blog posts as I’ll be moving into my year two accommodation and will need to buy new things so I’m going to make a haul post on that. I hope you have found this helpful and somewhat interesting, if you are moving into university in September, good luck and I can tell you that you will love it!! I was thinking of uploading a university room tour a while ago but thought no one would read so I’m going to include it here, I’m going to write one of these each year to remind myself of the experience and that’s what I love about blogging, I have the chance of looking back on things that I may have forgotten, it’s like a personal diary. If you have any further questions, comment them and i’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Bank holiday Monday- Day Trip to London

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog, I’d just like to apologise for not uploading for the past week, I’ve been really busy recently and been trying to have a short break before I get into blogging properly again. I’ve decided to not have an upload schedule as I don’t want to rush blog posts and just upload them when I think their perfect. Today’s blog post is going to be all about my trip to going to London the other week and explaining my day out. For bank holiday, I wanted to do something and go somewhere and I thought what better place than to go to London. As I’ve mentioned quite a lot over on my twitter that I’ve wanted to go to London for a while (as I’ve never been to London before, yes a shocker)

Similar to my other blog posts, my boyfriend came with me on this day out and it was so lovely of him to take all the photos of me for me, if you are interested in seeing the bulk of my images from the trip to London and all my other images, check out my Instagram, I’ve just recently reached 300 followers on there and that means so much to me!! (my Instagram is chlolaurennnxox btw) The train tickets were quite cheap compared to other train tickets that I have looked at previously for London, the only difference was that the train ticket was for a very off peak time for like 8AM so it was very easy but it was really worth it! On the train I just did my makeup as I didn’t have enough time before leaving and I did try reading a book but then I couldn’t be bothered honestly.

My outfit for the day was a denim dress from Primark which was only £12 and my black vans as per usual. We were so lucky with the weather when we went to London, it was honestly beautiful and it was so warm.

We got into London at around 10:45 and the first thing we did was go and get one of them tickets where you can go on the underground, I was quite anxious about going on the underground because I thought it would be really busy but to my suprise, it was so much more easier than I thought it would be. The first place we headed off to is Oxford street and the first shop I saw is Bershka and I basically ran to it, I’ve been looking for some perfect Mom jeans but I couldn’t find any but I did find a really nice slogan top which had the quote of “snacks and naps” which I feel is so accurate to me. We didn’t go in many other shops, we just went into some that we felt we wanted to go into when passing as we were also going to go to West field so I thought I would do the bulk of my shopping while I’m there (I was completely wrong, that’s another story)

We then started to walk down to Piccadilly Circus and it was absolutely beautiful and I just wanted to sit here for hours. All the buildings were so pretty and I really wanted to take loads of images which obviously I couldn’t because my phone would have died.

img_4375

We then took the underground back to Oxford street as I needed to quickly pop into Primark as I needed to buy some sunglasses and also needed to get some shorts and sun-cream because I didn’t want to get burnt (even though I got burnt so much). We then made our way back down to Piccadilly Circus again and we walked along the road to the entrance of Buckingham palace which I’m going to be honest is that I was most excited about. Every body in London were so nice and as we were walking down the road, it was so pieceful and this one man was so nice, he offered to take a photo of me and my boyfriend because he could see we were trying to get a nice photo.

Once we’d made it to the end of the road and next to Buckingham palace, which was so beautiful and unbelievable but far from what I expected, I felt like such a tourist on this trip, even though London is in the UK. We took so many photos here and I love each and every one of them, We then walked back through the park that’s next to Buckingham palace and decided to have a sit down as we’d been walking for a while and we had to decide what we were going to do next.

It was such an overwhelming feeling trying to plan the day out and how were going to see everything in just a small amount of time. We did then decide to walk down to the London eye which I was most excited about as I’ve seen so many people go there and it just looks beautiful. We walked past Downing St but you couldn’t really see anything because obviously it was all fenced up and you couldn’t get in. Once we got to the London eye etc, I was so overwhelmed and surprised as I’ve wanted to come to London for a while and it came to such a surprise that I was actually here finally.  The view of the London eye was beautiful and I really wanted to go to the other side but we had no time as we was planning to go to West field and it was already 4PM and our train was at 8PM.

As we were heading down to the underground, I started to get really hungry as we both hadn’t eaten this day as we were both really excited so we decided to try find somewhere to have some food which wasn’t too expensive. We both decided upon Pizza in the end and after eating this, I felt so much better!

We then go on the underground on our way to West Field and I was very conscious of not having enough time to shop or go in the shops I’d wanted to. We got there at around half 6 so we only had round 45 minutes to have a look round so unfortunately I didn’t buy anything. We left at around quarter past 7 and we had such a mad rush back to Euston as the underground was delayed and we had to get on two underground trains to get back, thankfully we did make it on time which felt so good, The train journey was around 2 and a half hours which felt so good as we hadn’t really had time to fully sit down and chill.

I’d just like to say, thank you so much for reading, I am already planning my next day out to London as we didn’t have time to do everything we would have liked, I’d love to go to West Field again just to have a big shopping spree so maybe on my birthday and I also want to see all the sights again and go on a bus tour, they seem so fun!! I’d love to go here more in the summer definitely.

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) MY 0-100 MAKEUP LOOK- FULL GLAM

Hey everyone, happy Monday! Welcome to my blog and I hope your all doing well x

Today I am back with another makeup look and this is how I go from 0-100, I am completely fine with how my face looks without makeup but this is how I go from zero makeup to a full face of makeup, which is the makeup I wear on a night out or on a special occasion, just in case you were wondering if I wear this much makeup daily, no I don’t, I think it would really irritate me if I did ahaha. This type of makeup normally takes me around half an hour up to forty five minutes so a lot longer compared to my everyday makeup. On this occasion, I was going out to the club on my campus and it was really fun but of course I had a very bad hangover in the morning but it was all worth it. In advance, I just want to let you know that there may be a lack of blog posts for the next two weeks as I have exams but I am going to try my very best to get them up for you, I am going to spend all my free time writing them, I really hope you enjoy this blog post, if you do, make sure to like this post and follow my blog post for more!

Before applying any makeup, I will make sure to moisturise my face making it easier to blend the rest of my makeup on also to keep my face hydrated and looking healthy, to do this I use my Therapy Skin moisturiser leaving my skin feel soft and hydrated and that’s all I needed when going out as I get very dehydrated quickly. After this I will go in with is my Makeup Revolution foundation and place a light layer on to my face creating a medium coverage, I will then go in with the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer on my blemishes and under my eyes and any red patches on my face, I either blend in my concealer with a small flat top brush or when I’m in a rush, I just use my fingers because it is super quick and easy. After I’ve blended all of this in, I will go in and use my Collection Powder and gently apply this to my face, once I have done that, I will use a blending brush and wipe around my face to make sure that is all blended it and there are no dry patches on my skin. I will then take my ProFusion Contour and Highlighter kit and use that contour shade and place it on my cheek bones and my forehead just so I can create that dimension and to give me a bit of colour because I’m very pale. Finally for my base, highlighter, I used the Sleek Highlighting palette in shade Solstice. I applied this to the top of my cheek bones and along my nose and Cupid’s bow which is what I normally do. As this makeup look is kind of out there, I tend to make my face look more natural and then use the contour and highlight to define my face more, I love how good highlighter looks with bright makeup, I feel like it contrasts really well!!

I don’t really change the way that I do my eyebrows and I haven’t purchased any new eyebrow products so I filled in my brows using the Freedom Duo Powder in shade dark brown. For the eyes, I used my Soph x Makeup Revolution palette and went in with the red tones and used the light transition shade through my crease and then used the light red and run that through my crease again, I then went in with the glittery red shade and also run that through my crease. The next shade I went in with was the light white glittery shade and put that all over my lid and put it on my inner corner.

For my lips, I went in with a Sleek mini in red just to go with the eye look and when I’m going out, I like to wear a red lip because I don’t normally wear red but I love to and what is the perfect time than going out.

For my hair and outfit, I curled my hair like I normally do but I did spend more time curling it so there were tighter curls and would last longer as dancing will take my curls out really fast. For my outfit, I wore a black lace dress that I got from Primark for Christmas, it is backless and I am in love with wearing it and it makes me feel so much more confident. This is how I got ready for this night out, I hope you enjoyed it!!!

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, i’ll comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) Please comment any blog posts you would be interested in seeing and I will make sure to post them (I would really appropriate your feedback) If you have any questions or suggestions or would simply like to get in touch, my email is chlolauren21@icloud.com and I aim to email back within 24 hours!! Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 4:30  GMT for another post…

Testing Wilkinson’s Sensitive Skin Skincare|Is it worth buying?

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog x

Today I am back with another testing post and this time I am going to be testing out the Wilkinson’s range of skincare. If you’ve seen my skincare routine you would know quite a lot of it is Wilkinson’s skincare – My Skincare Routine- Spring 2018- .Recently, I’ve accumulated all of the skincare from the sensitive skin range and I thought I would test it out for you guys and tell you my honest opinion on it all. This is one of the cheap skincare brands as all of these products were £1 which was such a bargain so if they actually work well, they would be a perfect cheaper alternative to more expensive skincare. I have tested some of this skincare out before but there are some products which I have only tested out in a first impressions Testing New Skincare Products. I am now going to get on with the blog post, I hope you enjoy this post and if you do, like this post and follow my blog for more!

Skin Therapy Sensitive Skin Cleanser 150ml £1-

I’ve only used this cleanser a few times and each of these products were only £1, yes £1 what a bargain!! This is a really good cleaner if you are looking for something to get rid of any excess dirt and to get rid of any lasting making that may still be on the face. I only use this at night as I have a very minimal skincare routine in the morning as I would have done my whole skincare routine the evening before. I have found that this makes my skin feel really smooth and gets rid of any makeup that has been left behind which is normally around my eye and brow area. This also gives me a slight glow and leaves my skin looking healthier. It hasn’t brought me out in any spots so that’s really good!! All of these products I am going to mention are made for sensitive skin, personally, I have a very combination skin type and my face gets red very easy, I haven’t noticed any redness after using this product, I would really recommend this.

Skin therapy sensitive skin facial wash £1-

I have tested out this facial wash probably twice while I’ve been in the shower and it is really good at removing all of my makeup, after using this facial wash, there’s hardly any makeup left on my skin. This facial wash claims to have Aloe Vera which has proven to soften and soothe the skin which I have noticed. You get quite a bit of product in the bottle which is really impressive as it was only £1. The way that I use this is I put a small amount of this in my hand and then I lathered it into my hands and then applied it to my face as evenly as possible and did this for around a minute and then I rinsed it off using a wet towel.

Skin therapy sensitive skin moisturiser £1-

A moisturiser is probably my main skincare product which I love to test because to me, have moisturised skin is so important and I can’t go a day without using it. I’ve been using this moisturiser everyday for the past week whenever my skin is feeling a bit dry or when I’ve done my skincare routine in the morning and the evening. this leaves my skin feeling really smooth and makes my face look healthy and moisturised which is obviously what we want!

Skin therapy sensitive skin toner £1-

I’ve never really encorporated a toner into my skin care routine because I’ve never really seen a difference in my skin after using it but I am obsessed with this toner. It leaves my skin feeling so smooth and it helps bring up my pores to get rid of them, since using this i’ve seen a massive difference in the amount of spots I am getting. If you don’t already, I would really recommend you use a toner, it is so good for the skin!!

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 4:30  GMT for another post…

Day two of our short road trip- Eastbourne

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog x

Today I am back with the second instalment of my short holiday, if you haven’t read my previous blog post about my day in Brighton, you should check it out before this one, ADD LINK. If you’ve read the previous post, you would know that my boyfriend and I booked a hotel in Eastbourne which was around an hour away and it was absolutely beautiful. We had the perfect weather and got so many great pictures! I would just like to say again, thank you to my boyfriend for taking all these photos! We left Brighton at around 4:30 so we did get a bit of time to wonder round Eastbourne before it got dark but the majority of this post will be from the whole day. I really hope you enjoy this post and if you do, make sure to give it a like also follow my blog for more, I’m going to try and corporate more travel posts into my blog because I really enjoy writing and reading them. Enjoy!

As I said before, we arrived in Eastbourne at around 5:30 meaning we still had time to have a look around but first we checked into the hotel, the room was beautiful and the view from the room was also beautiful, we got a small view of the beach and if you know me personally, I am obsessed with palm tree’s and there was so many here so it really made the pictures more pretty! The first thing we did was have a chill as we had been walking around the whole day and it was quite a long drive. At around half 6 we decided to head down to the beach and oh my, it was so beautiful (count how many times I say beautiful in this post ahaha) As I said in my previous blog post, one of my favourite sounds to keep me relaxed and content is the sound of waves crashing. At this time, the sea was starting to come in so we didn’t stay on the beach for long.

We headed over to the pier which was quite small but we got some great photos of the beach as I feel on a pier, you can always get the best photo’s. We started to get a bit hungry so we then headed to the local shopping centre which has loads of shops and we found a Chinese so we decided to eat there as it was simple and we only took pot noodles with us to have ahaha. We then headed back to the hotel and basically just chilled for the rest of the night, we did start to watch a film but I can’t remember the name but we fell asleep cause we had woken up at 3AM to get to Brighton ahaha.

I woke up at around half 7 that morning so I guess waking up at 3 AM has really messed up my sleep pattern ahaha but the view was absolutely beautiful and waking up to see the beach was amazing!! I really wanted to go out already to watch the sunrise but my boyfriend was still asleep ahaha. At around half 8, I started to get ready for the day, before doing my makeup, I did my skincare routine to make my face look fresh and then I decided to re create the peachy makeup look which I do have a blog post up on my blog if you’d like to check it out All things peachy drugstore makeup look. I also decided to wear my peachy coloured top to go with the makeup.

Once I was ready we decided to have some breakfast before we went out just so I don’t get hungry as fast. Check out for the hotel was at half 10 so after eating I packed up the rest of our stuff and I wanted some photos by the window for Instagram and they turned out so cute, my outfit of today was my peachy off the shoulder top, my black dungarees and my blue denim jacket as you’ll be able to see my my upcoming photo’s.

We then checked out of the hotel and put everything into the car and then headed off to the beach first and went in the other direction which we hadn’t gone the day before. Also, my boyfriend surprised me with another day and booked us another hotel, i’m so lucky, it was in Margate but unfornately there won’t be a blog post about the trip as I was really ill and didn’t get many images, but some of the photos of the trip will be uploaded on my instagram if you’d like to follow.

When we had finally left, it was around half 9 and the first thing we did was go for a walk along the beach and walked up near to the cliffs. There were these paths where you could easily walk up to the top and as I’m scared of heights it was great! We went up around 2 paths basically and the view was absolutely beautiful and by beautiful it really was. I got so many beautiful photographs, their probably my favourite photos to date, I might even get them printed!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The next thing we decided to do was go back up to the main part of Eastbourne and go into the art gallery, I have a really big obsession with art galleries and I think I’ve been in one every place I’ve been, I just love seeing the different types of art they have and that their isn’t just one type!! It was a very small art gallery in comparison with the Manchester one I went into but there were some beautiful pieces there.

As it was around 10:30 we decided to go to the shopping centre which we did walk past the day before but we couldn’t have a look round as all the shops were closed, I wasn’t really planning on buying anything but I was on the hunt for buying some culottes as they have been in season recently and I really just wanted a pair. There were so many Charity shops around Eastbourne and I absolutely love them because whats better than getting something second hand for half the price of a new one, the amazing news is that I found some rose gold culottes which were exactly what I was looking for, for only £3 what a bargain!! You will see an image later as I wore then on the evening. I didn’t really buy much else, just food.

img_2917

There wasn’t much else to do so we decided to go sit on the beach for a few hours and at this time it was around 3 PM and we did have another hotel booked around an hour away so we didn’t stay for long but we just sat there and relaxed and took some photos, it was such a beautiful day again so it was amazing just sitting in the sun and relaxing.

We decided to leave and head to Margate which took us around 2 hours as there was a lot of traffic, once we got to the hotel, we unpacked some of our clothes and got everything from the car. I was so excited as the hotel was on a massive retail park and the best thing was, there was a Primark!! we had a look around each shop and then headed back to the hotel. We just chilled for a bit and then we started to get hungry, about 2 minutes away there was a Toby Carvery and it would of been rude not too, we booked it for around half 8 so we decided to get ready again because I looked very tired from the journey. I also wore the culottes I was talking about, tell me what you think of them x

We didn’t really do much when we got back as we were both super tired so we decided to watch some family guy and just have a bit of a chill, I did my skincare routine before going to sleep and then I just slowly fell asleep, I really hope you enjoyed both of these blog posts, I enjoyed writing them so much! If you would like to see some photos from Margate, there will be some on both my twitter and Instagram which are linked down below, also I am literally 3 away from 100 on my blog, that means so much, thank you xx

Day one of our short road trip; Brighton

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog x

Today is a very exciting blog post and this is going to be in two parts, the next one will be up on Wednesday as I asked on twitter if you’d prefer to see them both together or separate and everyone said separate so here we are.  I’ve been eagerly waiting to write another travel blog post as besides makeup, these are one of my fav blog posts to write as they are so exciting and its so fun looking back on what I did that day. Me and my boyfriend have been planning on going on a short trip away for a while now and as it was the Easter hols at university, we thought no better way to spend it and go for a short road trip before all our assignments and exams happen, the calm before the storm right? I would also like to say a massive thank you to my boyfriend for being my photographer and not getting annoyed when I wanted a photo every five mins ahaha. I really hope you enjoy this blog post as much as I’m going to enjoy writing this, if you do, make sure to give this a like and also follow my blog for more!!

We left for this drive at 4 AM and woke up at 3 and it was the worst feeling in the world, I was so so tired and I had to quickly do my makeup and my hair but they both turned out quite well however I fixed my makeup in the car ahaha, nevertheless, the early morning start was all work it when we finally got there because it was such a beautiful sunny day and we were really lucky with the weather as in England, the sun is a very rare occurrence especially as it has been snowing but I sure wasn’t complaining!! We got there around half 8 and we had the perfect morning stroll as the car was parked quite far away from everything in Brighton so it was around a 10 min walk to the pier.

As you can see from the photo’s above, this was my outfit of the day, it was very simple but soon became really uncomfortable so I opted to change my outfit from the car into more comfortable clothing. When we finally got to the pier it was closed as I said we got their quite early so we decided to sit on the beach for a bit and chill as the drive was really tiring and we both just needed a break. The beach was absolutely beautiful and one of my favourite sounds which I use to relax myself is the sound of waves and theirs nothing better than hearing them in person and I felt instantly relaxed. Being by the beach increases my mood dramatically and I felt so calm and content, it was amazing! Throughout the day, I did get a bit anxious but I will talk about that in more detail later.

img_2565-1

Once we had sat on the beach for around half an hour, we decided to go for a walk and go to the shopping centre. I have heard such great things about the shopping centre in Brighton and how pretty the lanes are. I personally watch quite a lot of You Tuber’s who live in Brighton and it just looks beautiful and there are so many shops which I personally love. One of my favourite things about going to new places is seeing all the scenery and one of my favourite spots was the beautiful coloured buildings which you can see below and we also went past the Royal Pavilion and I would really recommend you go if you are ever in Brighton because it was so beautiful.

As I said before, we did go and do a bit of shopping and I had a look round all of my normal shops and I was so excited to see that they had a Bershka because I have purchased some of their clothes from their site a few times and I absolutely love their basic tee’s as they are so inexpensive but unfortunately I couldn’t find any that I really liked enough to purchase. I also was really excited to see that they had a Pull & Bear because this is another one of my fav shops but their aren’t many and I only brought one thing which was the grey jumper which you will see in basically the rest of my photos aha. I have recently been using 21 buttons to link my outfits so if you would like to buy the jumper and the dress which I also tried on, the links are all on there and my username is chlolaurenxo.

Anxiety is probably the worst thing ever when your having the most amazing time, I got so overwhelmed with the amount of people who were everywhere as it was a beautiful day out so why wouldn’t you go to the beach? After a while I did start to feel better and got it under control so we just decided to have a bit of a break, after this, we wen’t in my favourite clothing store which if you haven’t guessed, was Primark, I couldn’t really find any clothing bits which I like so I didn’t get anything but I did buy some makeup which I have been planning on purchasing but they never had the colours I wanted. There will be a review up on Friday for you so if you aren’t already, follow my blog so you don’t miss out!!

We didn’t really spend that much time shopping which is shocking as it is one of my favourite things to do but I didn’t really want to waste time doing something that I always do so we decided to go back on to the sea front and at this point, everything had started to open so we had a look around all the small shops and then sat on the beach for around an hour and then we went and had something to eat. One of my main goals in life is to be able to live by the beach and if I can accomplish that, I would be the happiest person ever, so spending as much time by the beach is a must whenever I go away.

The pier had finally opened by the time we had finished sitting on the beach so we decided to head over to the pier. Nothing makes you feel like your on holiday as much as playing in the arcade and using the 2p machine, am I right? I have always heard such great things about Brighton pier and it really did live up to that expectation. We went into the arcade for around half an hour and then we spent probably another hour on the actual pier. What I love about piers is that you get the perfect view of the sea so you can get some great photos and there are always benches so you can just chill, which is exactly what I did.

Once we had been on the pier there wasn’t much else we had left to do so we just decided to go sit on the beach for a while again as the weather was beautiful and I just needed the break. It was around 3pm now and we did have a hotel booked around an hour away so we decided to go there once we had finished on the beach. Brighton was so beautiful and it was so nice going as I’ve wanted to go there for a while now. I really hope you’ve enjoyed this blog and the next instalment of the holiday will be up on Wednesday and I would just like to say a massive thank you for all the support since I started my blog, it means so much to me x

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 4:30  GMT for another post…

All things peachy drugstore makeup look🍑

Hey, welcome to my blog and I hope your all doing well, also this is going up on Easter Sunday so I wish you a happy Easter and I hope you enjoy eating loads of chocolate and simply relaxing x

Today I am back with another blog post and I am going to show you how to get the perfect peach inspired makeup look. As it’s coming to spring time, I love to experiment with my makeup and try different eye looks so today I am going to be experimenting with peach and pink. I don’t have the most expensive makeup in the world which is completely fine with me i’m just letting you know in advance. I’ve been planning this makeup look for a while now and never had much inspiration so I had a look around for some inspiration and have put together the perfect look. I am not a makeup artist so I am not the best at makeup so don’t take any tips from me ahaha. Let’s get straight in with the post, I hope you enjoy and if you do, give this post a like and follow my blog for more. Also if there are any blog posts you are interested in seeing, let me know in the comments and I will try to do them all for you.

THE BASE MAKEUP-

Before applying any makeup, I will make sure to moisturise my face making it easier to blend the rest of my makeup on also to keep my face hydrated and looking healthy, to do this I use my ASDA little angels baby lotion, I know that may seem a bit weird but this product is so hydrating and makes my face feel so soft!!

EYEBROWS AND EYE MAKEUP-

I don’t really change the way that I do my eyebrows and I haven’t purchased any new eyebrow products so I filled in my brows using the Freedom Duo Powder in shade dark brown. For the eyes, I used a range of palettes to get the perfect peach shade as I don’t have an eyeshadow palette primarily based on peach shades, the too faced peach palette would be perfect for this look but unfortunately I don’t have that. The first palette I took was my Makeup Revolution Flawless 4 and took the peach shade in the palette and run that through my crease and basically all over my lid. I then took this 150 eyeshadow Christmas palette from Makeup Revolution which had a couple peachy shades and run them through my crease and on my lower lash line to create a bit of dimension. I wasn’t going to add any more eyeshadow but I didn’t feel like the look was brought together so I took the Makeup Revolution Flawless 4 again and added some of the pink glitter shadow on my lid and inner corner bringing the look together. I didn’t want to add much more so I created a very slight wing using the same eyeliner I use in every blog, I should probably get a now one ahaha and then I added a few coats of mascara and then that was the finished eye look.

THE LIPS-

Your probably getting sick of me mentioning this lipstick but it was the closest peach shade lipstick I own but I am using the MUA luxe Liquid Lipstick in shade Tranquilty. I added a small layer of this on my lips just so it doesn’t look to harsh and that was then the complete makeup look. I really hoped you enjoyed and took some inspiration on how to rock a peach themed makeup look, if you have any makeup look recommendations, leave some suggestions down below.

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) My Spring/Summer Bucket List☀️

Hey everyone, I hope your all doing well x

So today I am going to be telling you my bucket list for both spring and summer and I am so excited for the snow to finally go (there is currently snow on the floor) so I can sort my spring/summer wardrobe and wear brighter and healthy looking makeup! I probably won’t complete all these goals but it’s the thought that counts haha. I actually can’t believe how fast this year has gone already, I started my blog in January and its already been 2 months, it’s literally so amazing! I am going to be telling you my top 5 goals of the season but before we get into it, go comment what your goals are for spring and summer because I’d love to know and I could add some of them to my bucket list!!

Let’s get straight into it, I hope you enjoy and if you do, don’t forget to like and follow for more x

1. To lose some weight/be happy with my body-

Recently, I’ve been really struggling with body confidence and over the past few months I’ve put on a few pounds since Christmas and I’d really like to burn that off and be the weight I was before because I was so much happier then. To do this I am going to try and go to the gym more frequently and eat a lot healthier, I have gone into depth on this with a recent blog post and if you’d like to see it, its here. I am also going to try and go on more walks, I haven’t really done this recently due to the weather and I’ve really missed it, I always like walking to cute parks or new places just to get some fresh air and also to take some photography because I feel like there is more character to a photo when you’re outside compared to the photo’s being taken in your room.

2. Declutter my life and try minimalism-

For years now I’ve been thinking of having a minimalism lifestyle but I’ve never really had the courage to do so, but since I’ve moved out to university, it has been so much easier to get rid of things and have a declutter every once in a while. I am one of those people who has way to many clothes and makeup and just a lot of stuff that I don’t even need. I was thinking that the spring/summer season is the best way to do this because I have to move out of my accomodation relatively soon and I don’t want to bring all the stuff that I don’t want to take all the things that I don’t need with me, I am going to be selling some of my clothes on ebay so if you are interested- my ebay  and if you would like a minimalism series of me sorting out different things, comment down below and I will do that. A minimalist lifestyle has always interested me and i’ve always thought that money doesn’t buy you happiness and I’d love to save more money instead of buying things that I will only like for a day.

3. Pre- write and schedule my posts-

In the next couple months I’ve got loads of assignments due in and i’ve got 2 exams and in this time I really don’t want to lack on blog posts so I’m going to try and pre-write loads of blog posts when I have some free time just so I’m not worrying about getting a blog post up and not rushing them last minute meaning they won’t be as good. Whenever I am stressed, I always like to write blog posts because it really helps me to relax and calm down and I enjoy it so much. Whenever I have pre- wrote a post it always makes me feel so much calmer so I’m going to try and do this more.

4. Travel more, and just be happier-

My main goal of this spring/summer is to travel more and just simply, be happier. So, I’ve never left the country because I’ve never left the country, yes I am 18 and I’ve never left the country. I am going to apply for my first passport in april and hope it comes in time for summer so that I can go and see some new places and write some blog posts about it. When I think about it, I always get really bad anxiety about getting on a plane but i’m sure it would be fine. The first place that I’d love to go to is Rome, i’ve been looking at so many pictures and it just looks so so pretty. One of my main goals in life is to visit Japan/Tokyo, that has always been a dream and I hope that one day I am able to go!! In terms of being happy, I just want to be a lot happier and just go wherever the wind takes me and just not let anything get to me.

5. Do more creative and photography style blog posts-

I have the tendency to stay in my comfort zone about blog posts and always doing makeup inspired posts because that is what I am comfortable with making but I really want to venture out and produce more artsy and photography inspired posts. I’ve always liked photography and it has been one of my hobbies for years and now that blogging is now one of my hobbies, i’d like to include some photography into it. I have also wanted to do some Fashion inspired posts because along with makeup, I am really passionate about fashion but I just get worried in case people aren’t going to like my style or my posts but now I want to get out of that. In the next couple months I am going to try and venture into different blog posts because I like my blog being some sort of diary that other people can see and get inspiration from and for me to look back on! If you have any blog post ideas, let me know in the comments, that would be really helpful!!!

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Wednesday evening at 4:30 GMT for another post…

How to be healthier and feel happier in yourself☀️

Hey, I hope your all doing well x

Today I’m back with another blog post, firstly, I’d like to apologise for the lack of two consecutive blog posts, over the weekend I went home from university and forgot my laptop which was a bummer! and I just wanted to spend some time with my family also its coming up to exam season and submission date at university so I’ve been trying to concentrate on these to stop myself from having a mental breakdown ahaha, so I’d just like to say i’m sorry but i’m now going to get back into the swing of things!!  So today, I am back with another beauty/health related post and it is all about how to feel healthier and to be happy in your own body, so, recently I’ve been having some self esteem so I’ve made some life style changes over the past 2 weeks and I’ve really seen an improvement in how I feel mentally and physically so in the blog post I an going to be giving you some tips and changes I’ve made which have really made an improvement.

Without all that rambling aside, let’s get straight into the post, I hope you enjoy.

img_1320

1. Get more sleep at night-

So I’m one for not getting enough sleep at night and staying up till 2 am watching some show on Netflix and then having to wake up at 8 am and being absolutely shattered, so now I’ve been trying to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night which has improved my happiness so much as I wake up feeling so refreshed and energetic and ready for the day. The easiest way I found to monitor how much sleep I am actually getting each night is that I made a routine each day to go to bed the same time and to wake up at the same time. So on nights where I have a 9 am lecture I will roughly go to sleep at around 11 pm and then wake up at 8 am, giving me 9 hours of sleep which gives me so much energy and helps me so much when going to lectures and improves my concentration. On the weekend/days off, I will go to sleep roughly around 12 am and then wake up at around 9 am, I love to wake up particularly early because this is where I have most energy and motivation to do stuff so I will firstly get all the boring stuff out the way and do all my work and then sometimes if I have nothing to do, I will do some blog writing, in the morning is where I tend to get most of my creativity from and I have way more idea’s for blog posts when doing this. I love having my curtains open as soon as I get up out of bed because it lets all the light into the room making the room look awake and it just makes me feel so much calmer and happier and ready for the day.

2. Eat healthier and cut out the junk food-

I am one of those people who would rather choose to have a pizza over fruit and vegetables any day but I’ve been trying to fix this habit over the past few weeks and I can really see an improvement in my health from doing this. I now try to have my 5 a day because this is really important for our health and I have cut down a lot of the junk food because it didn’t make my body feel that great even if it did taste great. Now, I will grab for an apple, watermelon and grapes because these are my favourites and they feel more refreshing compared to other fruits. Most mornings I love to have lemon water, not only is it really good for you because it increases your metabolism it also tastes so good!!! I tend to have this in the morning because it kick starts my day and leaves my feeling refreshed and makes my body feel so much healthier!! I will use an app called “Lose it!” to track my food intake which is really good because it shows how much calories you have eaten in a day and all the nutrients the food I’ve eaten has given me (you shouldn’t count your calories you should just listen to your body when you are hungry as this will help to feel a lot more healthier In the long run)

3. Drink loads of water

I know this may seem obvious, but make sure to drink loads of water, this is so important for your body and your mind. I am one of those people who can go a day only having one glass of water which sounds really bad, but it’s true, but now, I’ve kicked my butt into gear and I try to drink at-least 1 litre and a half a day and I monitor this on an app called “my water” and you can put how much water you have had daily throughout the day and it also sends you notifications when to have more water which has really helped me because I simply just forget to have water even when it is so simple. I have really seen an improvement in my skin since drinking so much water, it leaves my skin looking clearer and it has helped to clear up some of my spots and it has also left my skin looking a lot more healthier and radiant which has really helped with my confidence and whenever I see my skin now, it makes me feel so much more happier. Before every meal, I will have at least a glass of water because sometimes we can mistake thirst for hunger so I just make sure I’m actually hungry instead of eating the extra food.

4. Exercise more-

I’m not one to go to the gym every day and work out because honestly I can’t be bothered or I simply just don’t have the time to do so. Recently I’ve been starting to go to the gym at least 3 times a week and spending at least 1 hour there at a time, but on alternate days, I will spend an hour going for a long walk and making sure I do at least 10,000 steps each day, getting fresh air really improves my mood and if I’m ever stressed, it helps me to clear my mind and I will normally walk to my local park which is only 15 minutes away and go around there a few times.

5. Deal with your stress/Meditate-

Being a university student is pretty stressful and can get to me at the best of times but when I start to get stressed, I like to take out at least 20 minutes out of doing work and take some time to myself and de-stress myself. I will normally meditate for around 15 minutes and I will use the “calm” app, this is perfect for anyone looking to calm down and this app is really useful if you have no idea what you are doing (which is me ahaha) there are so many exercises for anything you are feeling and since I have anxiety, I can work myself up over the simplest things so I will use the anxiety exercise to calm myself down and it really helps keep me in control of my anxiety!! Normally when I am doing work, I will listen to slow soothing music just so it keeps me calm and it helps me to work better and clears my mind which always helps me to feel 100% happier because what’s a better feeling than being stress free???

6. Keep a planner/Diary-

If your ever feeling stressed and overwhelmed with the amount of stuff you have to do in a day, I find it so useful to just keep a diary and jot down all the things I have to do in a day at the very start of the day before I get up out of bed. This just gives me a clear mind set of what I have to do that day and helps me to get straight into doing them. At the start of every morning, I will do all the tasks which will only take me around 5 minutes so that their out the way and I don’t have to worry about them for the rest of the day. I don’t normally complete all the tasks that I set for that day so I normally move them onto the next day but if I do complete all of them, I do try to treat myself because that is always important.

7. Treat yourself and love yourself-

I think the most important thing to do in life is to treat yourself whenever you get the chance to and to love yourself which may sound easier said than done but thrust me, when you do decide to love yourself, you will so much more happier and healthier and that is so important because you are all so beautiful!! Normally, when I get a good grade in my exams and my assignments, I will decide to treat myself to a new piece of clothing or to get a new makeup product because this always makes me feel so much more happier and helps me to feel proud of myself. It is always important to love yourself, at any chance I get, I like to spend time doing my makeup and hair and wearing something nice because this gives me so much more self confidence and that feels sooo good. So remember, always love yourself!!!

Makeup look using the Soph x Makeup Revolution palette-

Hey again!! I am back with another blog post, so I recently went into Superdrug to pick up some bits (there will be a haul very soon!!) and I walked out with the Soph x Makeup Revolution palette. I’ve been wanting this palette for a while now and I finally got my hands on it, i’m so excited because I’ve heard such great things about it and it was produced by one of my fav youtubers- Sophdoesnails!! I am going to be showing you my first impressions and makeup look using this eyeshadow palette and if it lives up to the reviews that other people have published.. Makeup Revolution is my favorite drugstore makeup brand because it is so so affordable and I have so much Makeup Revolution products so if you would like to see a makeup look only using Makeup Revolution products then give me a comment down below of the 💖 emoji!! I did this makeup look for a lecture at 1 and I did it in a bit of a rush but I hope this gives you an insight into my everyday makeup routine for university. Now lets just get straight into the makeup look! Enjoy Lovelies..

Makeup used-

  1. Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define- Shade 1-

37252298-B4F8-4594-8D52-53C59EE8FC64

I use the makeup revolution contour and concealer in shade 1 all over my face (my impurities and spots) I only do this because I don’t like my face to look too cakey which is normally what happens when I use Foundation also. It is perfect for covering up spots and imperfections on the face, it can be easily blended on the face and has an amazing coverage, it also doesn’t leave any orange spots upon the face meaning the concealer leaves the skin looking flawless.

2. Makeup Revolution Pressed powder- Translucent-

955B0F93-39A1-44DD-99C7-5C19CEA6A9FB

I then went in with my trusty old powder which I have used in all of my blog posts because it is just that amazing! I use this all over my face because it is perfect for my combination skin because it matifies my face but it doesn’t create any dry patches upon my face which is always a bonus!! I normally take this round in my bag to university or when i’m out and about so that’s why it looks so worse for wear, sorry!! This is so amazing on top of the concealer because it brings the whole base makeup together and doesn’t make it look like i’ve just used concealer because it gives just a little bit of coverage and the best part, its only £2!!!

3. #ProArtist Highlight and Contour palette- Light-

00E80387-8B26-4083-86BF-7FE9DA24314C

For my contour and my highlighter I went in with my trusty old Freedom Contour and Highlighter palette and use the 3rd shade on the bottom row to sculpt some cheekbones (which I most definitely do not have) this works perfectly for my pale skin as it doesn’t look too harsh or most importantly it doesn’t look orange which most drugstore bronzers do on me. To do this I use my stifling brush from Makeup Revolution because it helps blend out the contour so perfectly. For my highlight I went in with the first shade from the palette which is a beautiful white shade and to apply this, I use a Primark flat top brush and place it on the temples of my cheeks and along my nose and on my cupids bow.

4. Primark 3-in-1 Brow pencil- Tabacco-

Filling in my brows is my favorite thing to do because as you may know, i’m ginger so I have no brows ahaha so I have to fill them in daily to make myself feel a little bit more normal. I use this Primark 3-in-1 brow pencil to do my eyebrows. I use the pencil part to calve out my eyebrows and create the art and fill them in the tiniest bit, I then go in with the powder side of the pencil to further fill in my eyebrows to make them look more natural.

5.Soph x Makeup Revolution palette-

So, the part that you’ve all been waiting for, I am going to be using the Soph x Makeup Revolution on my eyes and giving it a review. So the first thing I must say about the palette is that it is absolutely beautiful and I already know I will be getting so much use out of this, there is such a huge range of colours in this palette which can be used for any occasion or makeup look. So, I’m now going to talk you through how I created a makeup look with this palette and another thing I really like about Makeup Revolution, there palettes always come with a shade name sheet (which I have already lost) which is so useful for tutorials.

The first shade that I used was pancakes which I placed all over my lid which is a perfect base colour. The next shade that I went in with was cuppatea which I mainly focused this in the crease to create more of a dimension. I then used the shade tiramisu and also focused it on the crease and my bottom lash line. As you may be able to tell by now, my favourite eye colour look is red so the main colours I used all over my eyes was the red shades. So, the next shade which I went in with was pumpkin which is a very beautiful red shade and use this over the majority of my eye lid and then run this on my bottom lash line also. I then took a mix of both danger and festive flame to deepen the red shade because I’m not really into a bold shade so I deepen and darken it up because I feel that suits my eyes better. Lastly, I took the shade fairy lights all over my lid with a flat top brush.

Essence Liquid Eyeliner £2.50 & Essence Pencil Liner £1-

B93E70F2-0FC9-47E5-90E9-370A5066527A

Both of these eyeliner’s are so affordable and doesn’t break a whole in my bank balance, which is always a plus as a student!!  These eyeliner’s are perfect for my makeup look as the liquid eyeliner makes it so easy to make the perfect winged eyeliner which I think would look perfect with the valentine’s day inspired eye look. I use the pencil eye liner on my bottom lash line just so it corresponds with the eyeliner and brings my eye makeup together. they are both so affordable, under £3 which you can’t go wrong with!!

Primark Amplif-eyed Mascara £2-

7EE13D8D-9865-4DF0-9ED2-C75F329F5E40

This Primark mascara from the PS range is amazing, it gives you so much volume so if you’re not really into that, this isn’t really for you, it does give some length too!! It is a very thick mascara and the wand allows it to coat all of the lashes and create a fake eyelasheffect!! This mascara is perfect to finish off the eye makeup as it looks very minimal but still makes an effect to the eyes. I will put this mascara on my top and lower lashes to bring the whole look together.

MUA luxe Velvet Lip lacquer Tranquility £3-

F9CEE000-652D-4160-BD78-263C3AF8F2C8

Finally, the last thing that I do to my face is apply lipstick, it is always the best feeling once applying lipstick and seeing the makeup looking put together!! The shade Tranquility is such an easy everyday shade as it is a brown-pink nude and looks perfect with any makeup look!! I go through stages where I constantly just use a nude lipstick but other times I use Reds and more adventurous colors which is always fun!! I feel as though makeup is always fun to play around with and there are endless ways and looks that can be made!!

I would love each and everyone one of you to interact with me in the comments, ill comment back as soon as I can (I promise!!) Valentine’s Day Get Ready With Me

Hey Again, I hope you’re all doing well, So, Valentine’s day is fast approaching and I love getting creative with my makeup! When Valentine’s day comes to mind I imagine pink faded eye shadow and a bright red lip. In today’s blog post I am going to be showing you how I did my Makeup, Hair and my outfit to give you some inspiration. No matter if you’re in a relationship (which I am) or single, you should always take time to look and feel good and if you’re single, don’t let that stop you from treating yourself or going out with your friends!! And remember,Always choose love, no matter what, and most importantly love yourself before choosing to love someone else!! I’m going to try something a little different so instead of writing about the product, I am going to give you a kind of tutorial of how I use the product just to give you a bit of an idea of what I did. Without rambling too much, lets just get straight into it, Enjoy lovelies ❤

Makeup-

Generally, makeup is my favorite part about getting ready because I feel as though you can be as creative as possible and no one should judge that (just play around you know??) When I think about valentine’s day makeup, I straight away think of pink eyes and a red lip and that’s what I’m going to do!! All these products can be found online or in store Superdrug and are very affordable, I will put all the prices with the products with each item!!!

Moisturizer simple kind to skin, Hydrating Moisturizer £2.89

D8C88C63-775B-44ED-8556-D7734177E0DC

So, the first thing that I use on an everyday basis is my simple kind to skin, Hydrating Moisturizer, this is a sample size which I got in a gift box for Christmas!! I use this as it creates a smooth base for the makeup and also makes the skin look hydrated and healthy(which is perfect for valentine’s makeup) I will generally use small amounts on each points of my face and then rub it in evenly. This is an important step as it moisturizes your skin making it look healthy but it also creates a smooth and nice base making the makeup look better.

Foundation- Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25hr nude 010 Light Porcelain £5.99

0F313906-7F58-4B19-8466-8255A00F50BA

I will then go in with this foundation because I want my face to look flawless and this is perfect for just that and I feel as though a flawless face would go so well with the rest of the makeup!! I don’t use Foundation daily, I usually just use concealer and powder (because I’m lazy ahaha) This Foundation is very light which is perfect for my pale skin but this foundation does come in a wide range of shades perfect for every skin tone. It has a buildable coverage. I will put little dots of this foundation all round my face and then I will go in with my beauty blender and use that to blend it all in which creates a flawless base for the rest of the makeup.

Concealer- Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define £4–

37252298-B4F8-4594-8D52-53C59EE8FC64

I will then go in with this concealer from Makeup Revolution, I will place some of this under my eyes and on my spots which is perfect for brightening up the eyes and concealing up my spots. This is the perfect concealer for this look because it covers any more imperfections on my face which the Foundation may have missed. there is a variety of different shades that are perfect for every skin tone, next time I go into Superdrug I am definitely going to pick up more!! (I’m obsessed ahaha)

Makeup Revolution Pressed Powder Translucent £2

955B0F93-39A1-44DD-99C7-5C19CEA6A9FB

I will then go in with this powder (As you may be able to tell this powder is a bit worse for ware)  This powder gives me a little bit of coverage and mattes my face and as I have oily skin, this is perfect for that!! You don’t want your face looking all oily when your out having a romantic dinner with your partner or going out with your friends!! I take this around with me in my bag as it is so easy to top up throughout the day/night!!

Freedom #ProArtist Highlight and contour £5-

00E80387-8B26-4083-86BF-7FE9DA24314C

I will then go in with this because I seek out any opportunity to use a hell of a lot of highlight (its my favorite) and I think this is perfect for just that!!! I will go in with the 3 shade at the bottom as my contour shade and use a stifling brush to calve out some cheekbones (which I unfortunately don’t have) I will then go in with a flat brush and apply the white highlighter which is absolutely perfect for my skin tone and place it on the high points of my cheeks, along my nose and my cupid’s bow. This Highlight & Contour Kit is perfect for pale skin and is only £5 (a bargain right?!?)  The highlighters (omg!!) their amazing, the white one is perfect for my skin tone and makes me skin look so bright and fresh and each shade in this palette is so (soo) pigmented, only a light hand is needed.

Freedom Duo Eyebrow Powder Dark Brown £3 & Freedom Pro Eyebrow Pomade-Dark Brown £5 and Primark 3-in-1 brow tobacco £2-

849F4EA0-42E3-405F-9CC3-60425A744E4A

I don’t usually use a combination of all these products,  but I sometimes use a combination of the Freedom products or just the3-in-1 brow pencil from Primark for when I’m doing a full face look and want my eyebrows looking perfect!!. All of these products are perfect for getting the perfect brow shape!!! The Primark pencil has a combination of an angled pencil which is perfect for carving out the shape of your brows and then has a little pot of powder which is also perfect for filling in the gaps in my brows. I generally use the Freedom Brow products when I have more time because they need to be used with a steady hand and takes a longer time to get thepreferred look!! I will firstly take the brow pencil from Primark and calve out the shape of my brows and make the perfect arch. I will then take the brow pomade and fill in any gaps in my brows which I will also do with the brow powder but focus more at the front to get a less intense look!!

MUA Pro Eye shadow Palette Fire Vixen £5-

IMG_0290

This palette is a very (VERY!) affordable, it ranges from pink tones to some browns and grey’s to make the valentine’s day look! The color’s in this palette are very pigmented and easy to blend. For this makeup look, I take the lightest pink tone and use that as a base for the rest of the eye look, I then take the much darker pink shade and run that through my crease, the same with the bright pink at the bottom. When I’ve done that, I use the lightest pink in the palette and make a slight cut crease ready to put a shimmer down. I then take middle pink shimmer shade and place that all over my lid. I run the dark pink shade along my bottom lash line to bring the look together. (sounds easy right??)

I use the pencil eye liner on my bottom lash line just so it corresponds with the eyeliner and brings my eye makeup together. they are both so affordable, under £3which you can’t go wrong with!!

Sleek Liquid Lipstick in shade Rioja Red-

3c9c7056-8c6a-4abd-ac41-79558c0f3746

This Liquid Lipstick is definitely the perfect Red shade to go with this look, a few years back I’d never dare to touch a Red Lipstick but now, it is all I wear when I have the chance, it just makes your makeup look soo much better and I am way for that!! This Lipstick corresponds so perfectly with the eye look and just brings the whole look together, it’s so creamy and doesn’t feel like there is anything on your lips (even though it is Matte!!!) So, now the long process of the makeup is all done, let’s get onto the hair!!

Hair:

8F31637F-BA47-4244-8C36-65CEF4E2CE46 (1)

Whenever I do full on makeup, I always feel the best hair style for the makeup is just having it all down but having it curled which I think goes so well with the makeup. I normally use a thin curling wand with using small amounts of hair and one go then I will run through the curls with my fingers to get the desired effect which is usually wavy (as you can see in the photo), I feel as if this hair style brings the whole outfit together and looks like you have tried that little bit more and looks so pretty which is absolutely perfect for this valentine’s look. I normally don’t use hairspray as I feel it looks more natural without as the curls fall out over time but your more than welcome to use hairspray especially if your going out for a meal or something!!

My Outfit of choice-

09F9DDC6-4525-451C-9D6C-888E0107F049

Picking my outfit was pretty difficult because I couldn’t really decide which vibe I wanted to go for but I knew that I wanted to wear a dress!! I am most definitely going to wear a coat with this or at least a jacket, maybe pink just to fit with the theme. I decided upon this dress in particular because I felt it was both very Spring and Valentines day appropriate. I brought this dress from H&M maybe last year in the Summer so hopefully they may have it in stock again this year!! I feel as though this dress is perfect for going on a meal for valentine’s day or going to the cinema because it isn’t too tight but it does look very flattering!!! I will also be using my over the shoulder bag in grey as I feel it corresponds well with the outfit and also keeps everything safe while out!!

Fragrance-

39106cb9-8fd6-494b-8f4a-82223716c7e8

My Perfume of choice is the Chloé – Eau de parfum, I chose this one because my boyfriend brought it me a few months ago and I thought it would only be right to use it on special occasions and that’s exactly what I’m doing!! This perfume smells absolutely gorgeous and I would really recommend it to anyone (and on another note, it has the same name as me!!)

I really hope you enjoyed this blog post, It was sooooo much fun to write and I’d love to make more posts like this in the future, I just want to remind you that no matter if you’re in a relationship or you are single for valentine’s day, always treat yourself and make yourself your best self, you don’t need to be in a relationship to be happy, and always find your true self and love yourself because that is so important!! It’s took me a while but I think I finally have and that’s made me so much happier!! And always remember that and if there is anything you take away from this post, Choose Love, let nothing get in the way of that, I hope you all have an amazing day no matter what you’re doing and also enjoy Pancake day (I don’t know about you, I’m super excited!!) Thank you so much for all the support so far on my blog!!

Have an amazing week my lovlies ❤

Where my Journey Begins: Getting to know me.

image

Hey there! I feel that it would only be right to make my first post introducing myself so everyone can get to know me a little better, so,  I’m Chloe, a 18-year-old female, for a few years now I’ve wanted to make a blog but never really had the confidence to do so, but as 2018 rolled around, I thought I would finally step out of my comfort zone and present my interests to the internet! This is my first blog and also this is my very first blog post (nerve-wracking right?)

Outside of typing on a keyboard, I am currently studying my first year doing Forensic Psychology at university, this was a very nerve-wracking experience but now I’ve got through my first semester and if I can get through that, then I can get through anything (right??) I hope to write a blog post about this experience soon and the tips I have for starting university if you would be interested in it! I love to travel the UK seaside and cities and hoping to have traveled them all by the end of 2018; doing so is another story. The Japanese culture is a very (VERY!) big interest of mine and I’m hoping one day I will be able to accomplish learning the language and visiting the country (we can all dream!!) If you know me in person, you would know my favourite animal is Alpacas, they make me so happy!!

So, your probably wondering what this blog will consist of, well, generally Lifestyle, so, Fashion and Beauty, I will be making look books for each season and presenting makeup looks and different brand reviews. occasionally I will present my Photography portfolio as I though this might be the best place to publish them, travelling will also be a big part of this blog and I hope to inspire you to visit these places too!! I’m going to be uploading a new blog every Sunday and Wednesday evening.

My main ambition of making a blog is to let people gain an insight into my interests and hopefully their own and to hopefully inspire you to do the things you love!! I also want to tell you that you’re not alone in any thing you are going through, I am here to help, also, I want this to be a safe place for people to visit to escape for a while and read something that they enjoy. Before starting this blog, I was thinking why? why should i make a blog? that reason is to finally have somewhere to have a voice (even if it is over the internet) and I hope to have a group of individuals following me in the future who are interested in the same things I am.

Thank you for reading my first blog post I hope it gave you an insight into who I am and I will be back on Sunday evening at 6 GMT for another post (:

The University Tag

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well and welcome to my blog or welcome back to my blog. So today I am going to be doing the university tag, so far this week I have been writing blog post’s all about university so if your interested in checking them out first, you can. I thought it would be a fun idea to do the university tag so you can get to know what I do and maybe you can learn something before going to university. I really hope you enjoy, if you do, make sure to give this a like also a comment if you have any questions or simply want to talk, also I’m so close to 200 followers so it would mean so much if you could give me a follow.

– Where do you study?

I study at Staffordshire University on the Stoke Campus and I would recommend this university if you want to do a Psychology based course.

What do you study?

I’m currently studying Forensic Psychology which I’m totally loving and I’m so glad I attended university to do it as a course.

– What year are you in?

I’ve just finished my first year, already, it feels like only yesterday I flew out my nest and left to live alone. I’m starting my second year in September which I’m so nervous about.

– Do you live at home or at uni?

I lived in the student accommodation for first year of university which is the best decision I made and I’m going to be living in student accommodation a few streets away from the university with my boyfriend and my best friend which I’m so excited about.

– How old are you?

I turned 19 a couple weeks ago, I know I’m young.

– What are your 3 uni essentials?

My 3 university essentials would have to be the friends I’ve made because they have made my experience so much better, a comfy bed because I probably spend most of my time at university and having it comfy is a must. My other essential is my gym membership because it gave me a space to get away from everything and it also keeps you fit which is a plus.

– What is your favourite meal to cook?

Something very quick and simple is a must so my favourite meal to cook is probably chicken veg stir fry, you can buy strips of chicken which are so easy to cook and the veg you can already get pre chopped and ready for a stir fry and you add the noodles and whatever sauce, my favourite is soy sauce and then mix it together and then it’s done, it tastes super good and it is also good for you.

– What is the latest you’ve been to the library?

The library can become your best friend definitely at the worst of times, One time I had an assignment due in and my laptop broke so I stayed in the library for 8 hours trying to get my assignment done and I told myself I wouldn’t leave unless I’d finished it.

– Ever done an all nighter to finish work?

Relating to the previous question, this is something every student will do no matter how good they are with time keeping, I’ve pulled quite a lot of all nighter’s in the year I’ve been at university but I guess that’s all part of the experience.

– Your favourite university moment so far?

My favourite moment so far at university is probably the time where I felt the lowest and the lonliest I’ve ever felt and then I met so many people who are now my best friends and going to a flat party and making so many friends, that makes me sound like a party animal but I just loved making new friends and talking to new people.

– One piece of advice for a fresher

One piece of advice I would give to any fresher is to be yourself and not to act like some one your not, some people tend to move to university for a fresh start and to be a different person but you shouldn’t change all together because the best people will love you for you, no matter your flaws.

– Something you worried about for no reason

The thing I worried about most was making friends and I don’t know why because it is the simplest thing to do when your at university also living in student accommodation, I was worried about being able to go in the kitchen and cook my food but I don’t know why because it was so easy. That’s the end of my Q&A, if you have any more questions, let me know in the comments if you have any more questions.
