How I Stay Motivated to Create Content

I can definitely vouch for the people that lose motivation to create content. However, a couple weeks ago, I decided I wanted to take blogging more seriously and try and make it into a job rather than a hobby. A couple months ago, I neglected both my blog and Instagram, however, now that I have a lot of spare time, I really wanted to make a go of it. I have been the most motivated I have been since starting my blogging journey and I am really excited to see how I grow and develop in the next couple of months.

As I know it can be quite difficult to maintain motivation, especially during such a worrying time, I thought it would make a great post to talk through my tips and how I stay motivated. If you would like to follow me on my journey of taking this whole blogging thing more serious, I’d love it if you could follow my blog so you can keep up with my content. Additionally, I’d really appreciate it if you could follow me on Instagram. I am planning on holding a giveaway when I reach 3k so I’d love any support, My instagram is @chlolaurenblogs.

Since starting up my blog and Instagram again, I have evaluated my content and started creating content that is more me rather than trying to fit in. Throughout 2019, I have created content that I feel others would enjoy and follow a similar line to other influencers. Now, I am taking the time to create content that I am in love with and that is me and expresses my personality.

Additionally, I have minimized the amount of editing that goes into my content, I no longer use a particular preset, I will just edit the image to make sure the lighting is balanced. I also evaluated my theme and where I wanted to go with Instagram, I have now decided on a theme and to be honest, I am in love with it. Whenever I go on Instagram now, I am so happy with my content and it makes me look forward to creating more.

On a similar note, shooting content is my favourite thing, I just wish I’d released how much fun it is sooner rather than following the norm of shooting outside. All I have to do right now is pop up a white sheet and have fun playing with angles and outfits, this definitely keeps me motivated and keeps me excited.

Something I’ve never actually done before is plan my content beforehand. Since doing this, I find I have a lot more motivation and I know exactly what content I am trying to create. My creative juices seem to flow both early in the morning and late at night, so whenever I get any ideas, I will write them now and try to build up an idea of the content I’d like to make.

In terms of blogging, whenever I have an idea of topics I’d like to discuss with you, I will take a not and try and brainstorm some additional ideas so I can build a post and a title. Once I have produced a title, I tend to just go with the flow when writing and write whatever comes to mind.

A great tip that I’d suggest if you are struggling to find ideas is have a scroll through Pinterest because this can be really helpful and inspiring, However, I wouldn’t suggest trying to copy that content, I’d just recommend taking some inspiration from it.

There are definitely days where I want to get my tripod out and some days where I don’t, its all about balance. One thing that’s been helping me during lockdown is staying organised and maintaining a schedule to my day. For example, I will schedule 1 hour per day to shoot content for my blog and Instagram and prioritize any collaborations that I may need to shoot. I will then schedule an additional hour to brainstorm ideas or write posts.

One thing that I’ve found really helps me in terms of blogging is not having an upload schedule. In a couple weeks, I may implement a schedule when I get back on my feet but as of right now, I’m just going to produce posts whenever I have the motivation and upload whenever I want. So, whether that be one post per week or three, I’m just going to do what makes me happy.

Do you have any particular goals in terms of blogging and Instagram? Write them down and work towards them. As of right now, I have two major goals. I’d love to reach 3k on Instagram and I’d love to continue working with some amazing brands. Additionally, once this is over, I want to try and go out of my comfort zone and attend some blogging events.

I’d also recommend putting a date down for when you want to achieve your goals by. For example, I’d love to reach 3k by the end of June, so I am going to work my but off to try and reach this goal. This helps me to stay motivated and also puts my aspirations into perspective.

So, there we have it, those are my tips for staying motivated to create content. I really hope you found this helpful and implement some of my tips into your blogging journey. I’d love it if you could like this post and give me a follow so you do not miss another upload. I’d also love if you could head over to my Instagram and give me a follow and help me on my journey to 3k.
